His head is designed to where he has 2 faces on a cylinder inside his helmet. You just flip it up on it's end, pull on his chins, & it comes out of his helmet enough that you can spin it around & put it back in, giving him a different face. One has the smirk, the other does not, though I really don't know if "fearful" isquite the way to describe it.Zombie Starscream wrote:Is that all on your Starscream, or is that from other people too? I think that would be neat to have the fear face too, maybe it could get stored in a chest compartment, unless that would make his chest too big.
Oh the horror!!! (MP Starscream)

I wouldn't describe it as fearful. Maybe Menacing, or disinterested (mine seems slightly bored. But it's ok, he always has a big smirk on his lips. Cheerful fella in a way.)

The more I hear about Mp-Screamer, the more pleased I am with myself that I didn't get it.
I mean no offense to anyone by saying that.
I just don't see the master in the piece I guess.
But it does suck when a figure you buy comes screwed up after shelling out so much money.
I won't be purchasing Mp-Megs either cause I just don't think they did enough on him.
His legs are still too G1 spindly and it takes a lot for me to put down anything G1.

I don't mind the defective ones so much, as I would probably still buy it, but I wish they would make the more badly defective ones cheaper. Its like selling milk that is about to expire that day and giving it the same price as milk that still has a good week left to go.

Na, this would be more like getting that hamburger meat that comes in a sealed tube....you know, the ones that don't actually show the contents but rather a picture of perfectly pink meat....& then when you get it home & open it up, it's more of a gray than a pink....& smells a little.....Zombie Starscream wrote:I don't mind the defective ones so much, as I would probably still buy it, but I wish they would make the more badly defective ones cheaper. ....meaning, you can't tell if the Screamers or bad or not untill you open them up.....so it'd be kinda hard to tell if the sealed ones were defective or not. I mean, you could shake the box & try to hear if anything's loose, but it might just be a loose Dr. Arkevil, too.

Well I got mines just fine and my head did come off, but with a bit of effort it's on again. Seriously BBTS is the way to go one this figure, they do take care of you if anything goes wrong. I love my MP Starscream, and I'm thinking of getting 2 more to repaint them as ThunderCracker and Skywarp.

Defective Starscream equals stinky hamburger meat in a casing tube.
Got it.
Or you could say he's more than meats the eye

Especially since it can't happen. The last 3 fingers are all one piece of plastic. Only the thumb & index finger are free of others.Jetfire Masta wrote:Anybody get a Starscream with only middle fingers? That would be funny to see
But hey, I'll be dammed if he can't do a great evil monkey impersonation.

OK final verdict... MP starscream was sometimes right all the way, and other production runs had defects.. but the real deal for the future is for Takara/Tomy to reissue him, in classic G-1 colors, restyle the feet..Or not, I kinda like the upgrade, but for purity.. lets say they would do that, then provide a yellow colored cockpit, and remove the doctor Archevil for a better feature..say the time bomb from that episode, or a crown and cape/shoulder attachements, then I feel that we have solved the MP Starscream problem.. Defects in this model is one thing, but I feel the whole project it self was a big giant defect.. it wasn't worth calling him a Masterpiece, because the master in masterpiece begins with robot accuracy and making it possible in 3-D, which includes it being colored correctly and no designer modifications.. like the feet, the exclusion of the crown and cape/Shoulder guards, and the color choice, which is realistic, yes, but its a freaking jet that transforms into a robot!!! Its realism is lost in concept alone.. so it should have been colored correctly and legs, crown, shoulder guards, and cape should have accompanied it on the final run!!
Lastly, it should be reproduced with a high amount of quality control, to maintain customer satisfaction.. i mean come on Takara/Tomy.. this is one of the most coveted figures in the g-1 line up, do it right.. and even the modified "designer" version was grand and fans ate it up with a quickness, we are still clamoring for a remold, with accurate legs, color and accessories.. to me that's what would end the nightmare and restore faith in Takara/Tomy.. in Japanese terms, you have defaced your honor in the Masterpiece toyline.. time to fix it..
Note: "you can do this without sticking a short sword in your belly"
JUST FIX the DAMN TOY!!!

That would be cool if he had the crown and cape. Is there any pictures that show him wearing the crown and cape together?

I wasn't bothered that there wasn't a crown or cape - it would have sat in the box.
I agree that the quality control could have been better, but that's my only complaint. That and perhaps that Dr Archevil could have at least been painted or not included.
Still think that this is the best figure I own.
