Re: Singapore Transformers sightings
Hasbro's marketing Strategy:
1. Hot new toyline! Cool! Orders a HUGE quantity of Wave 1 for retailers here.
2. Damn, this toyline is not selling as well as we thought. Wave 1 is still in abundance in the department stores. Reduces orders for later waves.
3. Solicitations for MPs come in (like MP Grimlock). Hmmm... this one so expensive. Cheaper toys in the wave 1 of Hot new toyline already have trouble selling, this one how to sell? Thinks back to the MP Starscream we have to lelong at $49.90 per piece. Decided not put up orders for MPs.
4. Rinse and repeat.

Re: Singapore Transformers sightings
The amount of TCSS is mind boggling sia.....
Anyways, just to pick up where I left off - Ady is right. Why use a bloody sharpie when it can be painted? INCLUDING the SMALL GOLD PARTS.
The level of co-relative insistence baffles me. Just to justify and protect my work, i would never use sharpies, even to the smallest detail and parts. So please kindly take note of that. Those who knows me personally (like majority of the frequent posters here) can vouch for my work.
And gavinfuzzy - SGD129 to SGD169? Where you get this information? If it is true, then it is awesome. But I would like to point out your statement "like Grimlock." As far as I know MP Grimlock was never released in TRU Singapore. So where are you drawing your reference from? Are you working for Hasbro or TRU or something?

MP grimlock DID release in SG... it was originally $169 or $179. (saw at tamp mall TRU) and yeah MP SW was originally $179 too, then dropped to $129. But no, i do not work for hasbro. As for Rodimus i am quoting from an email my uncle dropped to TRU SG

although i found some TC/WJ
Seriously, now and then i do drop by tru tampines mall when i drop by my aunt's place at bedok...but i didnt see it on sale also...and if there is, our bros who live in the east side would hv spotted it eons ago and reported to all of us...strangeeeeeeeeee....and the last hasbro's MP i saw on sale was MP skywarp at causeway pt kiddy palace and going for lelong and that was last yr ard this month...so since when did hasbro mp grimlock have in stock after MP skywarp was out in SG?
and TC/WJ is in the generations line, not from RTS line hehe just correcting u hehe

Re: Singapore Transformers sightings
Hmmm...strange distribution strategy of Hasbro Sg to only let 1 TRU have it, but at $169, I wld have given that MP Grimlock a miss. Well, I guess we'll find out how much Rodimus will cost soon enough, provided it is not at Tampines TRU again which I'll never travel all the way to....

Well I'm kinda curious as to why they don't impress you at all. care to enlighten us fer abit?
That's to bad too bad then, 'coz I just let go of my old MP Prime a couple of mths back for a mere $50 bucks. sold it to a secondary school boy who had a very limited budget when it comes to buying toys. I would've offered it to any bros here, that said seeing that you don't dig 'em (& they don't impress you), maybe if next time I intend to let go of any of my MPs dirt cheap, I shan't offer it to you then.

Yeah man I couldn't agree more. what a WEIRD distribution strategy. For me who lives in the east have never even sighted it at Tampines TRU. also since my working area is around town side, I've always took the opportunity to scout around the other two TRUs there i.e. Paragon & Forum. NIL. Hasbro MP Grimlock nowhere to be seen at all.
The only place that I've spotted it around town is CSC only. but that's only one or two shops just carrying one or two boxes of it.

Re: Singapore Transformers sightings
I am just going to take your word for it am assumed that MP Grimlock did come to SG TRU and ONLY in Tampines. And you and some of your friends did indeed sighted and perhaps bought MP Grimmy there.
But Hasbro's distribution in SG has been patchy and that would send the TRU execs into a marketing rage as other TRUs like Vivo are the main hub/bastion of Singapore tourist spot. So, to ignore these locations and only to direct it to Tampines sounds kinda weird and does not make any economical sense.
Anyways, heres hoping MP Rodimus will see the light of the day.
