I love how Megatron twists the story. He is awesome. I wish Optimus would stay a Decepticon though, because this show is too predictable.

Though, isn't Megatron twisting the truth also quite predictable? We all pretty much knew he'd do just that the moment we learned of Optimus reverting back to Orion and going with his old buddy Megatron.

Yeah, but the origin of the Decepticon name has never really been explained. And Megatron explained it like I always thought he believed it. That and I thought Megatron labeling Ratchet as "dangerous" was funny as hell. I can't imagine Ratchet destroying an entire planet, I just can't. "Docter of doom" LOL! What an asshat!

Megatron spoke the following exact words in the Exodus novel (which is part of the same continuity as the Prime cartoon): "Sometimes deception is necessary, when those who listen to the truth should not, and will only understand once they have been lied to and forced to see their own lies." He lied about it being a label forced upon them by the Autobots. He himself coined the term.

That and I thought Megatron labeling Ratchet as "dangerous" was funny as hell. I can't imagine Ratchet destroying an entire planet, I just can't. "Docter of doom" LOL! What an asshat!

Frankly, I find a lot of the dialogue to be quite good. Miko's probably got the worst lines, but it all fits with her character. And her lines in the live script reading of episode 15 at BotCon 2011 were downright hilarious!

Personally, I thin Optimus' dialogue as Orion is worlds better than how he spoke before. In the first season, he couldn't ever speak like a real person, always having make some sort of Yoda wisdom lesson come out of his mouth every time , without any real emotion either. Now, as Orion, he feels real, giving a full range of expression in all forms of emotion as he speaks.

But, yes, Megatron's dialogue is pretty good now, too, as he's also stopped sounding like a generic evil vilain.

EH. Regardless of whether you consider Exodus to be an undeniable prequel to Prime or not, you can't deny that its, at best, contradictory to most of the season.

Decepticon being a demonizing term for Megatron's uprising given to him by the higher castes that he chose to adopt as his actual name is in-character and is much better than the half-assed speech he gave Optimus in Exodus, that, quite frankly, made no sense.

I think it's best to say this version of the Decpeticon name is one of the contradictions that shouldn't be thought too much about.

It's not a contradiction, Megatron is just lying to Orion Pax about the origin of the name. Keep in mind, he said this right after claiming it was Warlord Ratchet, the Doctor of Doom, who was responsible for the destruction of Cybertron. Later on he claimed Starscream was dead for no real reason. And throughout the episode he keeps talking to Soundwave about how careful they need to be in order for Orion not to figure out they're lying to him.

You get it? This isn't a new version of the origin of the term Decepticon, this is Megatron being a damn dirty liar, which happens to be the theme of this episode.

Quite an interesting episode. I like how this Megatron is as good at manipulating other characters as Beast Wars Megatron, and is nearly as good a planner as the latter. But just like the latter, he can't plan for everything. Starscream coming back to the Nemesis was apparently considered likely, it's just the treacherous jet chose, for Megatron anyway, the *worst* possible time.

Speaking of Starscream, it's obvious from the breif scene at the end that Starscream is still *royally* pissed by the events of "Partners." He can still turn on the smooth when he wants, but it's clear he's not going to rejoin the Decepticon cause anytime soon. Be interesting to see if he takes the opportunity (if he's allowed time) to scrap Optimus while he has it. No doubt him calling Orion "Optimus" will have an effect - not to mention the fact Starscream showing up alive.

I also get the feeling Starscream's role in this season will be a spanner in the works for both Autobots and Decepticons - intentional or not (on his part).

I loved every bit of this episode. And Soundwave stopping Arcee was exceptionally BA.

Shoot us into space?" was a total reference to the Diego Garcia NEST base in RotF and the Autobots being exiled of Earth in DotM. Hilarious.

Also, the Soundwave ground bridge scene was really cool. I kept waiting for him to do something to her as she came closer, but i didn't see the ground bridge coming. Very cool to see a Decepticon who isn't just about killing. He saw the smart option and took it.

You may be right. Him mentioning them in that order just immediately set that flag off in my head. Not to mention don't the movies and Prime share writers/producers? I thought maybe it was them taking a shot at themselves (which I applaud if that's the case).

I don't get HUB so I can't be as up to date like you guys. But I did watch the first 7 episodes so far finally and this show is actually pretty good. 1 thing I don't like however is that Bumblebee has a loss of normal talking like in the Bay movies. I can understand their look because if transformers were real, they'd be like that instead of the other cartoons. But ofcoarse my all time favorite character Soundwave is B.A. Laserbeak is sweet. Too bad there's no Ravage though (as far as I know).

Arguing over what a "real" Transformer would look like is kind of silly, since, well, they are inherently unrealistic. The movie-based designs more likely come from the fact that newer audiences would be able to recognize the movie designs easier.

But ofcoarse my all time favorite character Soundwave is B.A. Laserbeak is sweet. Too bad there's no Ravage though (as far as I know).

Transformers being realistic is impossible I think. But if you think about it, the movie and Prime TFs is more realistic than the other one. Parts shift and turn to form into body parts from car parts instead of arms and legs coming out of nowhere. But on that subject, it kinda makes sense to go with either style of TFs because when they find a Earth vehicle to turn into, bits and pieces come out of nowhere to turn into that Earth vehicle. And I also found that Bulkhead is better in this because he's not some idiot that's just couragous.
