I notice that there alot of topics cover rid optimus prime which I think is a fine figure. But not many people talk about rid ultra magnus which I think is a pretty good figure in his own right. I own both of them and out of the two I like ultra magnus more. Guess the reason I like more is because he has little bit of g1 style mixed with a more modern look. So I wonder what you guys think.

I don't really like his robot mode that much. It looks too much like Godbomber (the robot that came with Ginrai and later Powermaster Prime).

His alt mode's pretty awesome though and I think it's a really fitting homage/tribute to the original Ultra's alt mode. He's one of the better figures in the RiD line but I don't know if I would say he's one of the all-time best transformer figures.

i dont like to play faverits because i have both but ultra magnus was the fist transformer i got so i suose i like he more and his vehcile mode is stronger.

wish i had him. i have rid prime and i wanted ult mags so i could combine them...still looking for it..but so far no luck.

RID Magnus alt.mode is totally the bomb! The front of the cab looks one bad a$$ TF. I love it a lot. Robot mode is a little bit weak due to the long leg but otherwise it's still a great figure. I actually like him more than RID Prime.

I think he's ok. I like his alt mode and his bot mode is fine, I just dislike how difficult it seems to get him from one to the other. It just seems like nothing will go in flush when I start moving parts around.

He's my favorite of the RiD line, followed by Megatron.

Dissenting voice: his alt mode is fine, and the combined mode with Prime is awesome, but his robot mode is quite poor by the standards of the line. No useful leg articulation, so he just stands their like a great lump. If I hadn't wanted the Prime/Magnus combined mode, I wouldn't have bothered getting him.

His alt mode rocks! Not only looks great but carries three deluxe size figures or bunch of spychangers, tons of fun.

His robot mode is original (not a white repaint of Prime). He is 1/2 of Omega Prime, enough said!

It appears that there are mixed feelings on rid ultra magnus which is what I expected. Me I look at as an honor and privalage to have been able to get him before the movie hype and the jacked up prices of transformers all across the internet.

RID Magnus, is really great in Car Carrier mode. He is a little limited in Bot mode. but he does have knees, that bend. It would have been nice , if there could have been a way to fold the car carrier part into legs that could be a little more proportionate to his torso. Also his chest has a big gaping void in it but what can you do.

I still like him quite a bit. I can't say i like him more than Prime, but i still like him.

I like his sounds also, unlike other figures, they aren't annoying. I especially like them when he combines with Prime, and has his gun attached. he'll yell:

"OMEGA FIRE"

Overall a great figure, with a few flaws.

Magnus is ok. Not too bad, but not that great. His upper half in robot mode is nice, but his legs are completely design for the combination with a bunch of folded flaps, way too long and can't really pose him well. So overall feel like he is more of a add on parts for Prime, rather than a figure that is good enough to stand on its own.
