Yay or nay? - CDMW-15 Predaking Foot Plates

Weapon: Null-Ray Rifle
So, I'm already 3 parts into CrazyDevy's Predaking releases: sword, wings, and shoulder cannons. I know of at least one video reviewer who added the foot plates to his figures and one of them was damaged. Did anyone else order this add-on and also experience damage to their Predacon? Which Predacon set was it: the pre-2010 version (yellow) or 2010 version (gold)?

I think from a rational stand point, paying $30 or more for this may be too much as it looks to only increase Predaking's height by a smidge and only adds a bare amount of aesthetics to the overall look. However, I'd like to get some feedback from those who actually own and use these upgrade pieces.

I'm into CD parts for the G1 figures, i have all the Devastator upgrades and i have the Predaking new head and wings, just haven't had the time to order the sword, shoulder cannons, foot plates and so on. From some of the reviews i've watched about the foot plates it only damages the most recent re-issue of Predaking,(Gold version) the older re-issues seems to be ok and fits well. The foot plate are artwork accurate and look nice, but can't justify the price and the damage it cause, which could be hit or miss.

Also, since im a HUGE Piranacon fan, I'm planning on getting the sword, the head and cannons with updated chest shield pieces as well.
