At least 31 dead in Va. Tech shooting rampage
Oh boy. Now Fred "Hatred is a lifestyle, not an emotion" Phelps is chiming in about it. He intends to "preach" at the funerals.

Good God almighty. Well the victims have my thoughts and prayers and I'm glad they are in a better place right now. As for the shooter may he burn for eternity. Ryan I agree with you on this, this is basically Columbine The Sequel. If it's big news, it belongs on the front page.

That narrow minded son of a bitchPeople have died and this has nothing todo with video games
Sadly, people (politicians and such) will use this as a vehicle to get their own agendas in the spotlight.
I forgot to express my condolences to the friends and families of the victims in my last post. May God watch over them and help them in this terrible time of need.

You think they wont blame Videogames? Fist it was comics, then Heavy metal Music, then tv and movies, now games. They just want a scapgoat so they dont have to report on how his family treated him or how he was bullied in school. I agree i think its Bullshit that games are being blamed (again)but thats the "in" thing these days. I can tell you right now, games didnt do it. They might have influenced that coward on how he planned how he was gonna do it. But unless he did some kind of Metal Gear, Same Fisher sneaking **** then games had nothing to do with it. And also why the hell do they always kill them selves? If there gonna kill them selves do it with what ever honor you have left and stab your self in the gut while some one else chops your head off with a sword.

When I hear about stories like this I always start to wonder what it would be like to be one of the persons that was getting shot at. Or just happened to be close by. I wonder if there was anyone that realised what was happening and charged at the gunman in an attempt to stop him only get shot himself etc.
In any case, i'm 100% sure hell has a special place for people like this.

That's right, he doesn't deserve to be lumped in with the innocent victims that he murdered.

As much as I love Transformers and enjoy having Seibertron.com to escape from the "real world", I feel it is my obligation as the owner of a major website to relay events of this nature to take a moment to reflect about life and to inform the tens of thousands of people who visit this site daily.
I'm not mad. Its a good thing to have it on the front page. I am sorry to hear about this tragedy though. I hope the families can find some comfort in the loss of their loved ones. It is a sad day.

If for some reason he wasn't put to death he would have been killed in prison cause if there's one thing inmates hate it's someone who kills kids for no real reason

These nuts take people with them for all kinds of reasons. I don't know which is worse; the ones who kill them for percieved revenge, the ones who feel like they're doing them a favour, or the ones who have no reason whatsoever.
One person's death can touch dozens of people. Thirty-one will touch dozens of families. At a college, this atrocity will stretch its hand out over an entire nation. Maybe this guy just wanted to make as many people as possible as miserable as possible.

Hello,
I am a Virginia Tech student who was on campus today.
I have been an avid reader of the site for years, although I do not post much.
I got in at 8:00 AM and was doing Homework in one of the engineering buildings. There are about seven engineering buildings as Tech is a big place.
I received an email about a "shooting incident" in one of the dorms, although information was sketchy and we did not know if anyone had been killed or a police officer's gun had accidentally gone off or what.
Then we got word of a second shooting and were forced to stay indoors away from windows.
This is a very unusual incident for Blacksburg. It is a VERY quiet town. I have lived here my entire life and my family has been here for generations (no, we dont get out much). Before this on average we would have maybe 1 murder every 5 years. There are no "gangs" - there have been one or two instances of graffiti but I would not say it is gang related. The campus is 25,000 students, but during the summer it is a town of only 5000. This is unprecedented and all of us in Blacksburg are shocked and saddened by these events.

I agree with Megatron Wolf. They'll look for some kind of scapegoat, like heavy metal music , comics, video games, role-playing games or a combination of any of them. They may even try to say that they were as kids allowed to play with toys they think promote violence, like Transformers, G.I.Joe, etc.,but they're wrong. Looking for a scapegoat doesn't solve this problem, but it's always easier for society to blame things they consider not to be their "norm", like everything I mentioned above. Perhaps they should take a closer look at the things they consider priorities if they want to place blame on something.

A real tragedy, it seems every year around this time (the week of my brother's birthday) there is some horrible catastrophe. Columbine, Oklahoma City Bombing, Waco and now this. It makes me scared to go to my own campus.
My heart goes out to the victims and their families and friends.
