China.org.cn is reporting that Dark Of The Moon is having record-breaking debut in China. It's opening brought in $56 million. According to Paramount Pictures International, that was the biggest debut ever for an American movie in China.
The world wide total as of July 27 is $926,051,172 according to Boxofficemojo.com. With Dark Of The Moon opening in Japan this weekend, the movie is within sneezing distance of the $1 Billion dollar mark.

As long as it outperformed harry porker I don't care. is it just me or do the Chinese seem to be latching onto the Transformers franchise much more than other parts of the world? I mean, we've seen all the scluptures over there lately, the movie debuts huge...seems like China is gaga over Cybertronians...
