TGping wrote:dark lord- how do you ink stuff with photoshop?
like what brush, do you use another tool?
I loaded the pencil scan, then created a new layer to draw in (over top of the pencils, so they stay intact), and just used the regular brush tool. For the foreground face, I used a 4-pixel brush, then dropped it to 2 or 3 for the background stuff.
I used the shape/line tool to make the panel frames and speech balloons. I'm also using Photoshop 8 (CS).
I also have a Wacom Graphire 2 tablet, which is a must for any real drawing on a computer.

I'd really like to get one of their Cintiq tablet PC displays... the tablet displays the computer screen, so you can draw directly on it. Unfortunately, I don't have 2 or 3 THOUSAND dollars to blow on one.. *sigh*

Fully-inked page 1!

It's still WIP until shin approves it.

Yeah, I realized I left out a word in the second speech bubble, so I went and fixed it, then decided to rename the file(s).
Fixed now.

It's good! I actually like the new computer font speachbubbles better.
I have to small points of critisism though.
In the first panel I think the lines of the hair and eyebrow on the closest (left) guy are too thick.
I know it's done to gives some depth to the drawing, but the varying thickness of lines is better suited to outlines IMO.
It would be better to have a thick "cut out" line, around the whole head, to add depth.
The second point is about the last panel on the first page.
Somehow the entire filled mouth feels weird.
It would be better if the face was covered in shadows, but now it really stands out as a solid block.
The coloring might change that appearance, but as of now it draws attention too much to the mouth.
I'm no expert at comics or inking, but that's what comes to my mind.
Overall it's well done!

I don't know...maybe it's just me; but something about her tears doesn't seem...how should I say...realistic. To me it look more like bleeding mascara or something...almost intentional.
I don't know how to fix it (if at all)...
Hell, maybe it's just me I don't know...

I could probably go back and use lighter lines (both width and ink)... I'll have another go at it after work tomorrow, I think.
Anything else?
*edit* Hm.. now that I think about it, she shouldn't really be full-on crying yet in the first "teary" panel.. just the tears welling up in the corners of her eyes. Definitely gonna go back and change that tomorrow night.

And as for the title, what about these:
"The Return of Honor"
"Honor's Warrior"
"The Spirit Warrior"
So are you going to do comics of other characters as well?
how about "code of honour"?

Well how many pages will be with this comic. Because I will color how many pages there of this kickass comic!
BTW, this comic might actually lead to Dinobot having his own Series!

Well, heck.. I can take a shot at coloring my inks, if you guys want...
In fact, when I've finished the inks on page 3, I might just go back and try coloring the pages anyway, just for fun.

Ok, I changed page two slightly: the first "crying" panel just shows tears welling in the corners or her eyes, and I redid the other one with lighter tear tracks.
