KFC Heavy Metal New Leader (MP Ultra Magnus)
Re: KFC Heavy Metal New Leader (MP Ultra Magnus)
Sure, I'll work on some pics. I'm home now and have been comparing plastic to some of my FP items and the plastic is actually pretty much the same stuff. Texture and density is same, I'm no expert but I think its the same formula. And I also have been looking for any metal in the joints and what not. Its all plastic. Except screws and rivits that's it. Nice rubber tires though.
Liking him more today than last night regardless.

Looking forward to it then. Need a focus shot on the head please. Something about it is bothering me. Maybe just the angles though. Thanks in advance.

Well, I am no photographer, and the venue is my kitchen but I hope these show some things we didnt see in the previous pictures.

Plastic joints strike me as a bit soft, but no problems yet. They ratchet and remind me of Hercs hips....

Annoying part for me

At the end of the day, I like him for how he looks with MP1. Pretty posable, imposing. No QC issues as of yet and I have been messing with him quite a bit. Ratchet joints could possibly become stripped. Looks ridiculous next to the current scale of MPs but I want something to put with MP1 and its perfect IMO.

Yeah, they are a concern, but he so light Im not too worried. Plus the ratchet action seems to almost be for show as they are tight even when they don't click. And no problem, gave me a chance to figure out how to post pics lol.

Same here. It just proves that the transformation wont work with the current MP scale because the alt modes scale together so perfectly but once you transform them, its over. As much as I hate the white prime with trailer armor concept, it kind of works better to get him in scale with other figures.

He ain't that bad looking. Thanks GMS. A bit troubling with the elbow joint not fitting properly but based on your pics, I'd give it a 3/5 for effort by KFC.

is 3/5 really what you'd expect from a $200 toy though?

Y'all probably already saw the front page news, but for your convenience, here are the pics of MP-22:

I'm not sure what's up with this head shot...

The scale appears to be very decent. The one thing KFC's has going for it is that it is not a parts former. MP-22 does appear to be armor on MP-10. Still, I think it looks great!

Oh yeaa!! that scale makes so much more sense!! =D very happy with it. yep sorry KFC. In Takara we trust! haha
Edit: pretty awesome that MP-22 can carry 4 cars while being smaller than Citizen Stacks (which can only carry two? from what I see from reviews). Correct me if I'm wrong

I'm really glad MP-22 is scaled to MP-10 more accurately. From what I'm reading, the only parts of MP-10 in MP-22 are his legs inside a hollow cab. The rest is formed by the armor in the trailer. The head sculpt looks great.

Doh! I think a few people might be disappointed that there is not a white prime in the armor..

I think there is a white prime in there.
The data from the front paged MP-22 news is a petty rough translation, but it does state:
If you look at the pics it appears that Prime's legs, in truck mode, are kind of just hanging off the back, as if the cab sits in the hollow of the carrier, much like the KFC version, but with the legs sticking out instead of folding inside.
Admittedly it is tough to get a full idea of the transform from the pics, but I will say I'm glad I waited for the Takara version.

The cab truck will still have its own robot mode, but it will be able to transform with the car carrier body as one.

Yeah, so far no one has been able to say definitively either way. Personally, I don't care if there isn't a white prime in there. I think going with the cartoon transformation scheme is a cool twist on this and MP-2 took care of a white Prime for me.
Citizen Stack looks pretty good with MP-01 though.

Re: KFC Heavy Metal New Leader (MP Ultra Magnus)
I love this version also And I'll be buying it.
I doubt Takara will release this on December 2014. As These are always late. I'm Guessing February 2015.
If I had to guess MP-22 UM Might be around 11.5 inches tall in super robot mode.
That secondary super head is interesting. It was probably made in the design for the Eventual upcoming repaint.
The Translation seems wrong. As this clearly has some parts forming stuff on the super boots.

Considering the timing, I wonder if KFC knew that Takara's new proto was going to be revealed soon. I wasn't expecting anything until at least August when Wheeljack is released (since we know Takara is also revealing Bumblebee now).
