I Really want to see the film, and these toys I Saw at the store made it come to life for me in a sense.
$15.99 USD For the good ones, and $10.99 USD (I think) For the smaller ones (Kinda like the tron toys huh?)
Anyway, Pics:

I Like the looks of these especially, build your own bot!
and more exist still.
If these don't interest you as real steel figures, you'd be glad to know they would be good for kitbashing, at least I think so...

I don't quite see how it's a rip off ^^;; It's a basic concept of boxing, a popular sport, done with the ever popular idea of robotics. If Reel Steel is a rip off of that old game then by god most things on TV and made in Hollywood are ripoffs, including every Pixar and Studio Ghibli film.

Taking a general concept and twisting it into something new isn't ripping it off. It's called finding inspiration and crafting something unique (keeping in mind it's nearly impossible for a story to be fulling unique).

So who cares if they made a toy that looks like rock em sock em robots. They're boxing robots. What else can you do with a toy? The movie is one big life form for the idea. Inspired by the old game? Probably. A rip-off? Not really.
