I blame Texas for starting this years ago when all the other owners were together in not paying him the money and what seems like desparation on the Rangers they gave him this huge contract

I remember the same resentment back in the early 80's because Winfeild signed a huge (at that time) contract with the Yankees for 10 years

your a yankees fan. ok. first off, i would like to say yankees suck.

second. how can the yankees, with such a HUGE budget, not get players who can get them to the world series. instead they spend 20 million on that old, over juiced fart roger clemans. and they lost to the F*CKIN INDIANS (no offence to cleaveland fans)

oooooooooooooookay. i think comparing the red sox nation to the KKK might be a litle much wheelie. the kkk hate all diferent types of people, while we just hate one sports team

as for clemans, yea we did wat him. we offered him what we believed he was worth and clemans went to the yank-off's because they offered him more money. great investment by the way.

Kosuke Fukudome...holy cow, I think we UNDERPAID for this guy! Talk about an impressive start...too bad the Cubs couldn't match him, but I'll take a .500 month of April. The Cubs haven't had a winning April in decades...if they manage it, I'll have more hope than I have in decades... :-P

OK...I'm not a moderator, but I think the KKK references need to stop. Comparing ANYONE to an organization that says one race is suprerior to another and emphasizes their point with violent tactics, lynching, murder, and genocide is completely uncalled for. I think we all got the point: Red Sox fans hate Yankees fans and vice versa. OK? POint taken...enough with that. Despite what ESPN (Eastern Seaboard Programming Network) seems to think, no one outside Boston and New York gives a rats ass about that rivalry. We have our own to worry about, thank you very much.

On the other hand, that hawk attacking a girl named Alexia Rodriguez at Fenway was kinda funny... :wink:

I'm not objecting to people saying the Yankees suck...I personally think that George Steinbrenner represents almost everything wrong with baseball (and Jose Canseco is the rest!) and don't like the Yankees. What I object to- and am strongly offended by- are the KKK references. They need to stop. Violence references? They need to stop. I don't care what side is spouting them...it's offensive and increases the likelihood of LAWYERS making appearances here. We don't want that...so just chill on the KKK references and the hatred. We just don't want to hear it. I'm not stopping you from thinking it if it's what you believe, just don't share it with the rest of us at this point.

On a "Sign of the Apocolypse" note: the Yanks and Red Sox are BOTH looking up at Tampa...does this frighten anyone else? :shock:

Last series was in 1979. They are currently on a 16 year streak of being below .500 though. They dream of being mediocre.

i read in the paper yesterday, the yankees were freaking out because a construction worker buried a boston red sox jearsey under the new yankees stadium in an atempt to jinx them, so the yankees spent 5 hours trying to dig it up, actualy woried about being cursed.

it's finaly happened. the sox and yankees have switched spaces. settle in pin stripe fans, it's going to be a LONG 80 years...

I doubt it will be 80 years, but you're right. The Red Sox are the favorite now. One thing of note that should make Yankees fans worry: the total lack of talent in their minor league system. They have nothing left: Georgie mortgaged the future of the team for the chance for rings to keep up with the Bosox. The Yankees will need a full decade to rebuild the talent base in the minors.

The scary thing is that Boston has ALSO mortgaged their minor league system. Boston will be on top for a while, but the cycle will happen exactly as the Yankees have seen. If I were both teams, I'd be working toward putting some talent back in the minors quickly.
