I've actually had a similar thought, but it was a sideline at normal price points and it was called "Transformers: Beyond Imagination". It's a general catch-all line for things that wouldn't have a place in a normal line. Concept art and alternate versions are part of it, as are things like unproduced Transtech and Hero prototypes, but it'd be a place to put weird or obscure characters like Gilthor, or even characters who don't technically exist like this guy:

2. Gregg Berger is the Englsh VA, so why would being used to dubs be a disadvantage?

It's only been 20 years since I started living my entertainment partly in English and just 10 years that my entertainment is all in original english. As far as American and British productions are concerned.

All my childhood and well into my adult years, I lived 100% in French. Some bad French dubs, some good French dubs. But now, when I watch a French dub with my family, I always find the dub to be stale and flavorless.

Appart movies dubbed in QUÉBÉCOIS. Now those are special.

Well, this is the "toys they're never going to make" thread. We're probably never going to get another toy of BW Inferno, BM Thrust, Armada Wheeljack, Cybertron Scourge, or other guys that had reused G1 names for the same reason.

Oh, I wouldn't say never. After all, if they're making a name-reuse character from another series, they can just slap that series name on as a qualifier.

But if they were to do an imported-to-G1 version of RiD 2015 Scowl (as opposed to an actual RiD Scowl) the import would doubtless be re-named.

...Speaking of name reuse, I hate series name reuse. Character name reuse is fine, we can just use the series name to tell them apart.
Which is why series name reuse is dumb.

There's the 2001 series, the Prime offshoot, and the IDW imprint. The latter is the least important here, since it was a comic, not a TV show with an attendant branded toyline.

There was also a sub line in Prime called robots in disguise, so three uses as far as toys are concerned

You mean a separate subline from the offshoot RiD cartoon?

Yup, Rumble came out in that imprint as did a few others. They all come up when you search on eBay

It's not impossible.Just look at Barricade and Blackout,their name aren't automatically associated with G1 selves anymore.

I didn't say it's impossible, but considering those two were micromasters who didn't make any appearances in anything while G1 was actually ongoing and the guys the names are now associated with came from a multi-million dollar summer blockbuster movie, I think it's fair to say they're special cases.
