New, colored samples of the Super Deformed Optimus Prime have surfaced from Winter Wonder Festival 2012 in Japan. This cute little warrior is not alone. He is accompanied by Ultra Magnus and an epic Victory Sabre. More information will be coming on these figures soon. Something that has managed to avoid the prying eyes of Transformers fans until now is the apparent construction of a new ChromeDome. The leader of the Autobot Headmasters, this character has been been growing in popularity over recent years as the Japanese Headmasters series has become more readily available to the home markets of the West. Pictured next to a Tomy identity slip, could this be official product? Please note that the Choro-Q has been stated to be "Not for Sale".

Re: Tomy ChromeDome, SD Optimus, Victory Sabre and Magnus
I'm not much into superdeformed figures but those are pretty sweet.
I was also shocked to see that Chromedome. I've been trying to hunt down his G1 fig in nice condition at a reasonable price for a couple years now. I'm real happy to see him get a new figure. Very cool indeed.
IF this gets enough response from the Fandom it could maybe see a release with a possibility of more to come. That would be nice.
Is it MP class?

From the 8000 yen pricepoint, im guessing that Chromedome is the next masterpiece!
Please let it be true!
Also, it seems like Chromedome would come with a transformable Headmaster too
Note the arms/leg splits

If Chromedome makes it to Canada/The United States/Europe, expect it to be redecoed as Bumblebee.
I mean, it's apparent to me that even if a character has been featured in one of the TF films it's still deemed 'obscure' by Hasbro and the stores that buy from them unless it's two certain Autobots that every toy collector knows and hates. After all, look at how reluctant Hasbro is to make any other character than Prime and Bumblebee.
With such an obscure character (truly obscure to the modern-day target group, not non-Bumblebee obscure) I doubt this will see US release.

What recent decision of Hasbro can't the above picture apply to?

It looks like Chromedome is a plastic construction kit, under the name "Frame Arms". No, does not transform.

That's an SD toy made for fun and has nothing to do with the large Chromedome, after all it's far too small to be the same toy.
Also, it looks like the Chromedome is a Gundam conversion kit, as in special suit of armour parts to put on a Gundam kit, I would guess Master Grade. It's still pretty awesome though. Also if it's shown off here, it's likely already sold out, these things are made for a limited time only to be sold at these conventions just like Jizai's stuff.

What's everyone getting so excited about? Just looks like a custom Chromedome to me. Most of the parts look like they're from an actual G1 Chromedome with some custom arms/legs.
Am I missing something?
Edit: OK, I just had a second look and it doesn't seem to be G1 parts. But it seems "too G1 accurate" for it to be official product. I'm still betting it is a custom.

Nope, you're not missing anything. This is not a mass production toy. I think Dead Metal nailed it as to what this thing is. Like you, I don't know why everyone is getting so excited. I know my chances of laying my hands on one are about absolute zero.
Still, it is a cool looking kit and I like that they have an actual Headmaster figure on there.

If I'm not mistaken that Victory Saber came out around Wonderfest 2010-2011, he's from the Petit Transformers line, there's also a Starscream, a Bumblebee and a Soundwave.

Holy hell, is that a Death King behind Chromedome?!

The guy who owns that must be seriously stoked.

Going by the first few comments made about the Chromedome figure, you wouldn't think we collectors were as hard to please as we usually make out,

He was one of the main characters in Headmasters, not sure exactly how popular Headmasters was in Japan though.

Jizaitoys had a Chromedome sketches of Chrome Dome up on their website last year. I wonder if they help design it.

What up M? Hey man, bad news....
1) the car mode is Choro-Q styled one of a kind. Not the displayed figures alt. mode.
2) Seems like this is some kind of non-transforming upgrade kit for a Gundam or some such wacky nonsense. I believe Dead Metal or... I don't remember who, someone identified it earlier in this thread and without knowing, crushed my dreams for such an AWESOME updated ChromeDome....

Hey dude, not much, just chillin with a beer.
Ya, I figured the tiny car wasn't its real car mode, homes. I was pretty much talkin about my original G1 Chromedome and his car mode

Even though it's not transformable, that Chromedome looks AWESOME (hint hint to 3rd parties)! With that being said, I am seriously waiting for MP Ultra Magnus with trailer to show up though.
Maybe one day....soooon
