Thanks to Mr Seibertron himself, I got one more Overcharge and the S7 Aligatimus!
Just ignore the giant lump on my head that UPS gave me with their fees sledgehammer.
My Overcharge trio is finally complete!

Why 3 copies? That mold is a failure as a triple changer. Unless the jet mode was upgraded?

That's expensive troop building. But I guess if he's got the moolah, more power to him. I figured he got 3 to display 1 in each mode.Sabrblade wrote:Troop-building.Rodimus Prime wrote:Why 3 copies?

Fitting for a figure named "Overcharge".Rodimus Prime wrote:That's expensive troop building.Sabrblade wrote:Troop-building.Rodimus Prime wrote:Why 3 copies?

In-universe, though, Overcharges are mass-produced drones built and operated by the Quintessons, per the bio of the original Overcharge toy from 2005. Before he acquired his individual identity, Blitzwing used to be an Overcharge, as part of his cartoon backstory, explained in the pack-in manga that came with Takara Legends Blitzwing, which thus explains how and why he remembered the Quintessons in "Five Faces of Darkness" while everyone else didn't.

Nice trivia! And yeah, even if the tank have a dik and the jet have cancer growths L. Blitzwing is fun to mess around with. Plus knowing that Overcharges are Quints drones, I thought having Blitzwing leading Overcharge troopers would make for a rad display.

A shame that this Megatron needs to be I a huge Leader box in order to not be confused with a voyager. A voyager box would have sufficed. Same thing for AoE Optimus.

Nice Haul This weekend.
Friday, I picked up SS86 Megatron at Target (yeah! a miracle. I know!) and spotted some SS86 Grimlock reissues.
Picked up Scavenger today at Wal Mart in the regular TF section along with some Mixmasters spotted.
With Scavenger, my Devastator is complete!

Agreed! I was showing my son how ridiculous the box to figure ratio was and he said well Lord Megatron demands nothing less due to his ego lol.
I wish they included the gun he shoots Optimus with in the movie.

Got a few things from BBTS this past week.
Blokee's Action Edition Soundwave to go with Prime and Megatron
MPG-14S God Ginrai, the box is massive, even bigger than the MPG-06S Raiden 6-pack box.
Yesterday I got the notice from BBTS that the Selects G2 Dinobots 2-pack is preparing to charge so I picked up G2 Grimlock this morning at Walmart.

TfSource had, for some reason, the Maketoys Battle Sentinel upgrade kit that came out for Reveal The Shield Laser Optimus Prime for very cheap. This set was one of the first third party items I became aware of way back around 2011, after seeing it in a video and then not being able to find it on the wiki.
I never got it, due to being priced out and not even having RTS Prime. Even though he's been on my want list for a decade and a half, I had yet to actually make the move. Here seemed as good a reason as I was going to get!
I will always be fond of this era of design. The characters were recognizable, but with extra style that made them visually appealing. As toys, they were very tactile and not fiddly. And they had just a bit more mass to them that made them easy and engaging for a child's hands.
This is the line up I wanted in 2011. (Only Wheeljack and Tracks actually joined the collection back then.)
Combing with a trailer is never not awesome.
Compared with the latest Laser Prime incarnation. Again, I'm partial to the stylization of the RTS mold, and really dig that the windows actually end up on the chest. But the Legacy one gets points for actually coming with a trailer (even if I got the upgrade for this one, too!)
Also, 400th Post!

Actually, this was before sale week! It was in the vintage section. I also got a Beast Machines Blackarachnia, who was also noticeably low-priced for TfSource Standards. Of course, both were pre-owned, but even other vintage items I've gotten from there weren't this low.
