"Classic-verse" Trailbreaker

Postby DoubleOScorpio » Wed Oct 24, 2007 10:13 pm

I took Reprolabels' idea for turning Movie Ironhide into Trailbreaker and made some additional modifications. I removed the original head and added an Alt Rollbar head.

Let me know what you think.

It looks ok. However, can the head stay attached in vehicle mode? Or to transform it properly do you have to take it off?

Trailbreaker!!! One of my favs. I llke his original head with the faceplate and visor (toy version). Modded Grimlock head or classics jetfire helmet would work.
That's just me so.. Great job! like it a lot. :APPLAUSE:

The head stays on during the transformation. You just swivel it so he's looking straight up and it doesn't get in the way at all.

Just a thought, how about sanding down the top of his head and the exhaust ports on the side, then painting the visor blue to give him more of the character look? Again ,just a thought.

No it isn't.

I agree, I'd love to see a version with the Grimlock head modded to fit. I dunno... Jatfire's helmet might work...

Cool job as is, though.

Very nice. I thought movie Ironhide looked more like Trailbreaker anyway. Good work.

Motto: "Know your enemy, then crush them."
Weapon: Gatling Cannon
I'm SOOOO doing this.

I'm gonna order the reprolabels next week.

I was gonna use the 180 degree turn of IH's head for the "toy" version of trailbreaker, but now I don't know, I think this looks better. :-? :-?

This was the base - Movie Voyager Ironhide: http://www.seibertron.com/toys/gallery. ... =0&start=0

And the head I added was from Alternators Rollbar (who was originally supposed to be Alt Trailbreaker). http://www.seibertron.com/toys/gallery. ... =0&start=0

For those of you who are going to duplicate this - I removed the entire ball-joint and post from the Alternators head. It is attached to the body of the Alt by a small pin. Use a small flat-head screwdriver to pry it loose. I then used Zap-a-Gap to glue the unmodded post onto Ironhide.

I then added reprolabels.com decals - both the "classics Trailbreaker" set for the main figure and the "Alt Trailbreaker" set for his noggin.

Good luck and thanks for the feedback!

Personally, the stikers are to tacky and kinda scream "80's".
I'm fine with it, just isn't very appealing. But the head switch is prettey genius, much better for TB.
