Greetings, people.
There is something I am wondering about the Beast Wars Alligator Megatron figure; not counting its purple recolor, I have seen several images around the net where some of the parts (gator head/leg, forearms, etc.) were green or brown.
Brown; http://www.toyarchive.com/STAForSale/NE ... lete1a.jpg <-- there are many images of this color all around.
Green; https://www.dropbox.com/s/44n07xfw9kys9 ... _image.jpg <-- the image used in Cliffbee's review is the green one. The image gallery here in Seibertron was green as well. Some folks had theirs in this color as well.
I have not found any info in the net explaining this. I own a brown variant and I'm interested in owning a green one as well.

The one you labeled as "brown" above looks green to me. You sure this isn't just an issue of the color looking different in various photographs?

That's what I was thinking, neither TFU or TFwiki list any variants, unless its a Hasbro v Takara issue?
Beast Era isn't my strong point, sorry I can't help more

That can indeed be attributed to lighting. In the second image you may noticed the background has a blueish hue to it, that may be the cause of the brownish parts looking more green than they should be.

I think that's still a lighting thing. In the tfu image, the lighting looks a tad...yellow? Whereas it's nice and white in the other picture.

Again, different cameras, different lighting, different backgrounds make the same color look different in different photos. Seibertron's pics are the most likely to be color-accurate because he's got a TON of experience with photographing Transformers. TFU's photos are of much lesser quality.
I think there's only one version of this figure. It has two shades of green - a bright green and a brownish green - and the brownish green parts appear more brown or more green depending on the lighting conditions and the photo (as well as your monitor).

I see. Many thanks for the answer! it just incredible and interesting to know that of all BW figures I've ever known, Alligator Megatron's colors just seem to be from green to brown depending on how it the picture was taken. This is something (from experience) I do not seem to observe with other figures of the line. No matter how the pictures are taken, I always see them in their usual colors.

Re: Concerning Alligator Megatron's color(s)
Well, I have him and he's definitely a green with a brown tone to it. I guess some figures it all depends on what kind of light you get them in. I've actually found that to frequently be the case. It makes hunting down variants and repaints a bit more of a task than it needs to be, but it's fascinating to see what's out there.
I'm working on my Beast Wars collection at the moment, and short of a few of the rarer Botcon figures and the Lucky Draws (which I'm skipping for the most part), my collection is just about complete (including for the BWII and BW NEO series).

I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I am that which is, which was, and is yet to come.
And you will know my name is MEGATRON when I lay my vengeance upon you!

it has to do with A. Lighting and B. there are two slightly different shades, the first was the green green... then when they redid optimus and megs into a gorilla/ trex, the aligator got a second run thet had a slight brown tinge to it... so keep that in mind, and the lighting doesnt help... one was taking with a soft white light (cool light) while the other that looks brown was taken with a cheap bulb that has some yellowish redish light coming from it.
