All Hail Megatron is being extended!
Chris Ryall, the Editor-in-Chief of IDW Publishing has updated his blog Ryalltime, with the announcement that the previously confirmed All Hail Megatron Coda series will instead by turned into issues #13 to #16 of the main All Hail Megatron series.
Ryall mentions the reasons for the change, and what we can expect from the last four issues of All Hail Megatron:
The series was only ever slated to be a 12-part saga, but word and sales on the book have remained so steady that the four-part "Coda" we talked about before has become AHM 13-16. Each of these four issues will contain two 11-page stories by different creative teams--a couple of which will factor into future plans in a big way--and each of these stories either wraps up elements from Shane's 12-part story, sets up events for the future or delves into plot points that fans that early on were inconsistencies.
Ryall also confirms our earlier story relating to Nick Roche working on a story concerning Kup, and how he was upgraded from the state he was in at the end of Spotlight Kup, to his shiny new form seen in All Hail Megatron.
As an added bonus, Ryall has also posted both versions of the cover for All Hail Megatron #13, with Prime and Ironhide featuring on both. Trevor Hutchison will continue to create the alternate covers. To view the covers and read Ryall's full blog update, please click here.
IDW's future plans for the series post All Hail Megatron will be announced during BotCon.
So Seibertronians, are you glad or saddened by the news that AHM is being extended, in this new format? post your thoughts and theories below!

Re: Confirmed: AHM Coda is now AHM #13-#16
I know that the story hasnt changed and we are still getting the CODA to bridge the gap between the plotholes the size of a hippo's yawn.
But my god, hearing this is going to be called AHM 13-16 makes me think "God will this sorry excuse for a story never end"
I still cant believe people are buying this garbage, to go 16 issues and have told so little story, I feel that when this ends we will be no further along in plot development. The Autobots will come and save the day and hit the reset button and will we be any the worse for having read issue 1 and 12 and missed the filler snoozefest
I say No.
It will be fun to see what subtle puns Furman adds into this CODA series as he still has unresolved plot lines that will never see the light of day, or be retconned in a sentance so I'm going to read these issues for curiosity more than anything else, I'm not sure how this will impact sales as a lot of fans are steering clear of buying anything with an AHM label on it

It would be nice if we could get the last two issues of the current story before diving into extensions...

Pity: I liked it being called Coda.
Don't know why people are so uptight on plot holes: there aren't really any left these days, other than design changes by Hasbro.

Are you joking? Have you actually read the thing? The plot holes in AHM, especially in the early days, are so big you can fit a battleship through them.
Of course, it's a matter of opinion which is worse: the holes themselves, or Shane's weak attempt to patch them as AHM trundled along. Remember: we're getting this "coda" because those holes need to be fused.

I don't really see what difference it makes what they call it...We already new it was being written so whether they call it "Coda" or simply "13-16" doesn't really change anything...And it doesn't "extend" AHM any more than it already was going to...

I'm glad Nick Roche is writing the sequel to his Spotlight issue. And I'm glad that they are starting an "ongoing" numbering system.
But after the last 10 issues of AHM I really don't know if I want to buy any more of these comics... They just don't hold my interest as much as they did before the -ation series ended. Even Max Dinos was slightly disappointing.
Maybe this is a sign to stop buying comics again...

This is slightly disappointing to me, I'd hoped it would all be one writer as opposed to mini-stories by different people. Oh well.

Perhaps you're reading it too closely and not reading my comments close enough?
I said 'not many left these days'. I'm not denying them, but Cybertron will now have been mildly habitable for a full year soon. It's time to get on with our lives and accept the explanation.
