Wow, those wing-nipples are really distracting... and the wings were already a bit distracting to an old G1er like me. Definitely keeps either of these from being a clearly superior figure. Bummer.
Was there another version of this coming to accompany the Takara FOC lineup? If so, maybe it won't have the wing-tumors/dew claws/phantom limbs.

I suspect it's the pure FoC mold, so no wing ports.

The AM ports are just that...AM ports. They shouldn't affect the United line considering they don't include the AM gimmick.

Good! I'll continue to have my hopes up for a third "perfect" release. Mind you, I DO lurve that micron. I could do with a good dozen of those lil guys, though my wallet says otherwise.

Thing is, I don't live in America, and over here we get most all of our TF's (Hasbro or Takara) from hobby stores.

Ah, okay. Tried to see what your location was, but it wasn't listed so I couldn't find it.SKYWARPED_128 wrote:Sabrblade wrote:If it's the Hasbro one you want, he's still shelfwarming at every Target/Wal-Mart/TRU I've been to.SKYWARPED_128 wrote:Things are NOT looking too good for AM Shockwave. I live in Malaysia, where it's probably easier to get a Takara TF than a Hasbro one, for better of worse.

On the one hand, we never lack for affordable Japan exclusives at hobby stores, since Japan's much closer to Malaysia than the US. One the other hand, import taxes and currency exchange rates makes Hasbro TF's almost twice as expensive for us than the average American collector.

That's a really interesting detail that I hadn't heard — about the import taxes making Hasbro bots so expensive for you guys. While we experience some serious markup, I don't think it's twice as much.
Given, there is a lot to take into consideration: cost of living/value of currency/exchange rate/shipping/import taxes/online store resale costs.
Maybe some marketing major or economics professional wants to step in to do a comparison of import toy prices and value? Ha ha.

Hmm...I wonder if the AM can attach to his forearm the way Hasbro's weapon can.
I agree that the AM ports on the wings are ter-ble.

Figuring you have to buy TWO... to get an extra micron to cover up both wing ports.
