It seems to me the Dinobots were incomplete not only because Vector Sigma didn't provide them with a full consciousness (indeed, they are dumb), but even because Wheeljack and Ratchet used earthling metals/construction methods and not generation via Plasma Chamber. Or not?

BESIDES, I strongly think the Matrix of the Leadership is even an interdimensional key of interface with the Allspark, so virtually speaking Optimus Prime could have animated the Dinobots via the Matrix of the Leadership... or not?

PLUS, were Seasons 2 Transformers like Perceptor, Blaster, Thrust, Triplechangers created on Cybertron in the 4 millions arc the Autobots and Decepticon were on statis lock aboard the Ark?

The annimation of a Transformer once the chassis has been built is inconsistant throughout the TF continuities.

G1 Cartoon: The Dinobots and the Constructions (if you adhere to them being built on Earth) both are just built and then suddenly alive.

G1 Cartoon: Seperately I always thought it was interesting in the Episode Autobot Spike where a human's mind can animate a chassis, though mental stability can suffer. I'd love to see this explored more.

G1 Cartoon: Starscream's Brigade episode - TF consiouses can be put "on ice" in a detention facility, then re-assinged to a lifeless chassis, like how the Combaticons were brought online.

TF Animated: A protoform or a fragment of the allspark can animate a chassis.

Beastwars/other: Each transformer has a spark. When that spark is released it goes back to join the Well of All sparks, or if your a Predicon, the Pit.

Shattered Glass - They call their sparks "embers" and I assume they work like sparks do.
In a place such as this, you are the perfect prey for a brest animal!

Well, we can assume Dinobots got no spark, and their mental patterns are extremely elementary.

Constructicons were just REbuilt in order to convert into earthling modes. Megatron's line is just a flub.
