USA Today has vote for Characters to be in TF Movie 2!!
I voted for Shockwave. As in 'proper' Shockwave, not 'janitor' Shockwave. The upper echelons of Decepticon command should be a very dangerous place to live, and the more guys with their eye on the big chair the better. Devastator would be a great way to bring the third act on with a bang, but the Autobots as they are would have nothing to stand against him. Perhaps Omega Supreme as a small passenger airliner could swoop in and save the day?

I "would" have voted for Grimlock if I could be assured that they were going to base it on the "Wolverine genereal type" comic version of Grimlock and not the "bumblng idiot" cartoon version of Grimlock. As they'd probably go the route of the cartoon... I passed.
Soundwave would be nice, but he won't be a tapedeck, so he won't be Soundwave... next.
Hot Rod & Ultra Magnus are "future" Autobots. Let's wait until Movie 4 for them to show up.
Jetfire is only really popular because of the comics. He'd be fun, but he just doesn't have an established personality.
Insecticons? Eh? How'd they make it on the poll? Must have used a cerebrol shell.
That just leaves Shockwave & Devestator... and so I went with Devestator. I love ole' one eye, but by voting for Devestator we get six sepearate characters, which is great in many ways...
Can you imagine a hyped up movie COMBINER? With each character being a good hefty size? And plot wise, the Constructicons could be building any sort of doomsday devicee.

I voted Soundwave. But they are going to need to fill the ranks up a little more after the last movie. I would hope for at least 5 more on each side so as to give us some more eye candy.
SO Decepticons:
Shockwave-Communications truck
Soundwave-Laser Cannon
Real Devastator (Outraged Bay pulled that stunt!!!!
)
Seeker Squadron (SS, SW, TC)-Each a different jet
Autobots:
Ultra Magnus-Hopefully close to G1...
Wheeljack-a GM car
Sideswipe/Sunstreaker (bickering brothers...good times)-awesome sports cars
Mirage-Indy car
AND A NEW SCREENWRITER!!!!

Well...I couldn't help it. Its like when I told my non-Transfan friends that Blackout was sex in robot form during the movie.bobpiecheese wrote:Sentinel Pax wrote: I said Mirage, because the thought of what Michael Bay could do with an F1 race car had me giggling with excitement. That, and you could play his doubts about the war, and have Ironhide or someone else think he's a spy.
Exactly what I was going to say...perhaps without the giggling.

do people not realize that devastator was in the movie, his toy was marketed as brawl but he said himself that he was devastator

Anyhow, they should've made us vote 2 bots one for autobot and one for decepticon. For the Decepticon, I would've voted Soundwave followed by Shockwave.
Man, I'm so surprise by Jetfire vote. Since when did he become so popular in the G1.

I voted Jetfire.
Imagine a Jetfire v Starscream fight.
Jetfire should be done to look more sleek than Starscream, sort of like a Macross mecha.
If the producers have any brains they will put most of these in the sequel somehow. Well maybe not the dinobots and their simple brains.

I was alerted that someone derailed this thread but it looks to be back on track.
Let's keep it that way.
Thanks.

Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

- Alt Mode: some sort of rudimentary lathe
I went with Skyfire because he'd be great to start off as a Decepticon, then switch. Starscream would be furious and their battles would be insane. The autobots need one with a flying alt mode. But Soundwave is a close, CLOSE second with me.

i think mirage would be a good substitite for jazz. and they could have some sweet car scenes since he will probably be like a racecar. but devastator would also be good. but give the autobots some power!!!!!!! vote for mirage or jetfire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ohh...
Jetfire VS Seekers. Him alone against 3 seekers. Two grab him and are fighting him while another rams into his chest at full speed. But he is a little bigger and alot stronger and rips off Thundercrackers wings and blasts a hole in Skywarp, leaving him versus Starscream who is hididng and sneeks up on him from behind. Imagine Michael Bay directing a scene like that...

How about bringing in the Aerialbots? Now that sounds like fun; the leader has acrophobia and one of them has the attention span of a rock.

Shortround should totally be in the next movie. Look, even robot illustrator Ben Procter made concept art for Shortround's third mode:

Then again, that may open the door to alot of "toilet humour"
...
hardy-har-har, I'm so friggin' funny...

Ravage should have been looped in with Soundwave. They could have put a different character in his place.
I Vote devastator though, I mean come on a final battle at the end with a 80foot tall robot that combines from six smaller ones, that would be a totally awesome effect!
Soundwave is my favorite Deception and they would just mess him up, seriously, they would make him something other than a tape deck. That just don't seem right to me. I know we all love him, but Soundwave is better as just an 80's G1 character.

I voted for Shockwave, he'd better be leader of the Decepticons in the next movie (well, since Megatron is sleeping with the fishes).

Tank, dino, either way. Let's face it: Bayformers Autobots need some MUSCLE. Grimlock's the answer for that. Especially comic Grimlock. They way they did Prime's sword could be applied pretty well to Grimlock's energo-sword. Can't you just see it? The Decepticons show up with the newly-formed Devestator. Prime orders the Autobots to fall back. But Grimlock? Oh, no. He's got that blade out, ready, and he's charging Devestator, "Me, Grimlock, think falling back for sissies!"
I'd love to see a Dinobots/Constructicons fight on the big screen (provided they iron out that whole shakey-camera-looks-like-two-junk-piles-falling-into-eachother thing that plagued the fights in the movie). That would make up for all the faults of the first movie.
I can see why everyone would want that Jetfire/Screamer fight, though. ESPECIALLY if they play up their shared past just a bit...
Edit: You guys might jump down my throat for this, but why not have something sort of like the LSC (Lightning Strike Coalition)/Wreckers in a sequel? Show that not all the Autobots are as "Let's hold hands and give peace a chance" as Optimus? Figure, the Autobots are spread all over the place...some of them had to have wound up on some pretty hostile worlds. Guys like Grimlock could not want to give up their more powerful alt modes.

I voted for Magnus. Big shock, huh? I think it would be perfectly logical for him to show up with his own Autobot troops in tow. What isn't logical is why they chose Venom for their Insecticon picture.

not surprisingly i agree with pretty much everything you said here. I would love Grimlock in the new movie. the Dinobots were amazing and I think they deserve a spot in the sequel. plus, the LSC/Wreckers Idea isnt a a bad one, at least not by me. A new faction coming down, ones that had taken refuge when they thought maybe prime abandoned them?
