A couple pricing questions

Postby Spider 001 » Tue Aug 09, 2016 1:17 am

I'm trying to organize a list of the Takara figures I want. I can't afford to buy the figures as soon as they are released. And I definitely CANNOT PRE ORDER. I need to wait & pick off 1 here & 1 there as my extremely low piss poor poverty paycheck permits. My rent is currently way too high so I'm moving. Once I find a lower rent I'll be in better shape.

I have a couple questions.

#1 What happened to Unite Warriors Galvatron? Was he a regular release or some kind of limited exclusive? His prices jumped up almost immediately & I wasn't able to get him when he was first released. I really only wanted Cyclonus & Thrust. I got Cyclonus but the current prices for Thrust are ridiculous. People are paying $67.99?

#2 I've noticed what seem to be extra high prices for Legends Hardhead & Skullcruncher. Whats the story on those?

Bigbadtoystore has Blur & Scourge for $29.99. Most of the others are $39.99. And Hardhead & Skullcruncher are $49.99. Is there a reason for the uneven pricing? Since these are all deluxe class shouldn't they all be the same price across the board?

Sorry, I'm a bit confused right now. :(

Motto: "The only good is knowledge, and the only evil is ignorance."
Unite Warriors Grand Galvatron was exclusive to TakaraTomy Mall (comparable to our Hasbro Toy Shop). As such, stock was limited and even harder for businesses to get in the first place. Coupled with the fact that it has exclusive heads and characters, making it desirable, it sold out really quickly and sold on at inflated prices.

TakaraTomy doesn't use standard price points like Hasbro does, so it's allowed itself to toy with contents of sets and prices as it sees fit. In the cases of Skull and Hardhead, the addition of the Titan Master Vehicles has bumped them up from the regular price for a Deluxe-sized figure. As Blurr and Scourge don't come with one, they're cheaper.

In short:

Skull & Hardhead: Headmaster, main figure, vehicle
Blurr & Scourge: Headmaster, main figure
The resident Rewind... well, half of one
