are there any female collectors amongst us?

G1 Starscream is smart and ambitious, and is more of a dashing pretty boy than Megatron, who is more like a seasoned old man.
Armada Starscream has the whole honour thing going on, making him somewhat chivalrous.
They also have a very cool look about them, the jets make some of; if not THE best alt and bot modes in the whole series.
Same reasons so many men like him actually.

Uh yes, but that would be me. But surely as a Transformers fan you know about the phenomenal amount of men who think Starscream is the best thing since sliced bread?

I just prefer him over the other seekers due to his very distinct personality....

I'm a young woman who collects Transformers. Got roughly 80 of 'em, majority of them are from the 07 movie toyline.

I'd be willing to put money on Starscream beating everyone but Optimus Prime in a popularity contest.

Seriously, it's nice to see that collecting TF's isn't a male only thing. I don't know if women are as interested in the engineering and imagination of TF's as much, but then again maybe they are.

I disagree. I would love to know all the technical little details behind how the TF's change between bot- and alt-modes. I love cars to death, and am a big TF fangirl and I collect figurines (not just TF's). I've been going through the book that describes all the parts in my car just to figure out how a TF of my car would look so I can draw it (movie-style) eventually.
And I'm not a creepy fangirl

I have always been interested in almost every aspect of TF since I was an itty-bitty (well, if you can call 14 an "itty-bitty")....And what the cartoon or comic didn't create for them, I tried to on my own!

well yeah there are some girl collectors (including me) haven't you seen the scary pictures online
if you haven't you don't want to...but you'll know if a fan is a girl when they ramble on about how cute Screamer is...as for me I'm more of a Thuindercracker fangirl
but not the creepy kind
Hey, hey...we're not all bad! I'm a Screamer fangirl (though equally an Ironhide and Bumblebee fangirl), but I'm not obsessed (well, not too much...not in a scary way at least) or anything. I don't think I'm scary either...but that's for you to judge (see pic below):

I agree. I've always been drawn to the "bad boy" characters, so...yeah. And he's a pretty spiffy looking jet

Well, if it makes any guys feel better, I'm personally not a fan of Starscream because he's "attractive/sexy" (though he is one of the cooler-looking TFs)... I'm a fan because he's just such a slimy, flamboyant, histrionic bastard that he's hilarious to watch. He's fun to love to hate.
(But I find the likes of Jazz, Perceptor, Silverbolt, etc. more appealing in terms of actual likeable personality.)
As for collecting, I'm not really a collector since I don't have a lot of money or space for anything that I can't *use* in some way. But I do have the few figures of my various favorite characters that are still available.

I bought my first transformer this past weekend, does that make me a collector? The choices available were slim so I bought Bonecrusher.
I am female. I wouldn't want to be a guy. Good Girls are often attracted the power of bad guys so that would put me as a fan of the Armada Starscream. I also like Blackout and Optimus Prime from the Movie. For toys, I like Smokescreen just because he is kind of neat.
There are transformers all over my dining room, none of them are mine though.

Bah, I will never understand why guys think girls are nonexistent when it comes to collecting transformers (and yes I am a chick). I get the same thing in "World of Warcraft" as well whenever I log into a foreign ventrillo that is not my guilds.

Just wanted to say that I am a "chick" and while I don't have a collection of Transformers, I do have a lot of their comics and a lot of other series. Like G.I. Joe (usually kills some guys that I like that of all things), X-men, Spider-Man, TMNT, and a whole bunch more.
I do have the original Optimus though and I am slowly beig tempted to add to that meager "collection".

Im surprised at all these sort of threads popping up alot recently. Im agree with Senor Hugo with adding something in the FAQ that yes there are female TF fans. Girls don't be ashamed about it, the guys who know I collect TF and other lines and that I love cartoons and stuff love me for that. My boyfriend certainly did. He found his soul mate in that. But if you are looking for other female fans Deviantart and Live Journal have many clubs and groups.

Eh, when it comes to online correspondance, I just assume that everyone online is gender-less, just like the Transformers. Saves me the trouble of wondering who to hit on.

Once upon a time, when visual chat was a new thing, people used to get outraged if you got their gender wrong, even if they were wearing an avatar of the opposite sex! Craziness. I'm glad people are just slightly less crazy these days though.
