BTW how come no one is mentioning the Armada/Energon/Cybertron Primes as their favourite? Everyone seems to like movie Prime. BTW I have none of the previous Primes mentioned so I wouldn't know how you guys rate movie Prime over the others.
Mind you I love my Leader Prime too. Spent a lot of time painting him chrome and pampering him.

MP Optimus, Primus, MP Starscream, MP Megatron can all give 'the bird' in one way or another.
Don't forget RiD Megatron and Galvatron. Nothing like having a full-sized robot hand giving you that gesture.
Anyway, my current favorite is MP Megatron, but as soon as my re-issue G1 Ultra Magnus arrives, that will be my favorite.

I kind of have to break up my Favs into two groups: all my old TF toys I had as a kid and all the TF toys that are in my current collection.
From my old toys, it's gotta be G1 Metroplex. I got him on my birthday, and never stopped playing with him until I'd finally left Transformers behind as I grew out of TFs. I had all the city/base TFs, and he was still my favorite, even beating out Fortress Maximus. The ability to add Gestalt limbs to him for Superarmor was great, I loved his little black car accessory, and Sixgun was neat as heck. Targetmaster Triggerhappy comes a close second: I was always playing with that darn toy.
From the current collection, I'm going to go with Cybertron's Leader class Optimus Prime, even beating out MP Prime. He was the toy that really got me back into collecting TFs years after I'd stopped. I can't walk by him without posing or messing around with him. After that, Real Gear's Booster X-10 comes in at second place.

My favorite figures thus far.
1. War Within Megatron
2. Classics Astrotrain
3. G2 Optimus Prime (soundbox still works)
4. '74 Deluxe Bumblebee

As far as collecting them and setting them up, I've got to go with Cybertron Primus. Not only can he shoot the bird but standing him behind 30 or so smaller Autobots and posing him like he's ordering to attack is just amazing.
When I was a kid, it was Devastator. Now I'm an Autobot at heart and always have been but this guy to me was awesome. I didn't have an Autobot combiner so how could Prime, Prowl and all the rest stand against something so big and powerful? He was also great to use as a Cobra war machine against the Joes. DAMNIT I wish I had his Classics.

Man Primus would own Devastator. You need a Unicron

HOLY CRAP FRIGGIN 08 BUMBLEBEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not sure how much R&D they put into this sucker, but he is either my favorite toy EVER, or top 3 with leader prime and grimlock binaltech!
That would be for my newer crap when getting back into collecting.
As for G1, well, I'm in love with all 5 of my orgiginal dinobots, even though some are in crappy condition. I recently bought ultra magnus and i'm sorta likin him, jetfire too. But the dinobots just look great.
Edit: Ok I'm back. 10th anniversary optimus primal is pretty awesome too, so are megs and prime revoltechs.
I just love it all!

But you've answered so that's cool.
Sorry about the misunderstanding on my part.
BB was one of the first G1 Transformers I ever had, I got him before I ever saw the show and he actually brought me to the series, along with his pal Huffer. I really totally wanted to like the '08BB, and outside the paint job, I really do. Oh, and that the little yellow "pads" on his arm are just plastic inserts that are held on by nothing other than light friction, and they fall off when you transform him. Might put a drop of super glue inside one of the slots on each side, that'd probably hold it in place.

Well, my favourite that I've ever owned (or effectively owned, as I think my sister owned this one, but we shared our Transformers, anyway) would have to be G2 Megatron. Yeah, thinking about him now, he's probably not such a great figure, but there's just something I really like about a bloody huge tank with sound effects. Yes, I will hopefully get Leader Brawl when he comes out, before you ask.
As for what I own now, I'd have to say that Classics Bumblebee is my favourite. He's just a brilliant portrayal of the G1 cartoon Bumblebee design, with the added bonus of a jetpack. I'm also very fond of the Movie Deluxe Arcee.
But in the end, I think I'll always have a simple soft spot for whatever my most recent Transformers purchase is.
