Even though this head was made by Hasbro as a secondary head rather than to specifically be SG Ultra Magnus.

This head was made long before BotCon. It's an unused design that's being used here. This just happens to be its first use.

.....and with that, I officially don't care about this years Botcon set either.

I really like the idea of Shattered Glass, and still think some of the previous repaints are genius, but these look like under planned, overpriced, 'will this do?' CRAP.

None of the figures shout 'must have' to me, at all, apart from SG Tracks, but with Tracks, Wheeljack, and hopefully Runabout and Runamuck, I can skip that one. Just about....

Oh well, at least SG Drift looks to be the part, and I hopefully won't have to sell a kidney to get one. >:oP

Interesting....creepy...I kinda dig it. Though, I must say, it strikes me as more of a slight remold than a full on new head. Regardless, I bet it lightpipes like crazy with all that clear plastic. Magnus may yet be the saving grace of this boxed set.

it looks like the red stuff on the robot head is hand painted. because it looks like tons of layers of messy blob red paint.

I'm gonna guess that the inner face isn't going to be crystal clear. I think the head sculpt just all came in crystal clear.

I think the inner face will be painted a solid color.

I just think their wasn't a person with decent paint skills on the TFCC crew,to paint the inner face sculpt. perhaps painting the inner face takes more painting skills & thinner paint brushes.

I think I remember that monster-looking prime in the G1 flashback during the hate plague episode Return of Optimus Prime. ... and still wasn't spot on with this design. I just remember it having fangs, which probably gave me the same knee jerk response seeing this new design with fangs.

It wouldn't have been so bad if they just spaced the eyes a little further away from each other. Like Hasbro sometimes does; gets close to somthing unique, but effs it up just enough to look stupid.

The head isn't meant to be anyone specific. it's just being used for Magnus.

I think it's a cool concept, but the sockets look like badly painted eyes, which is misleading. I think it'll look better in hand. That been said, I think the club should find a way to retain a few of the original molds headsculpts and sell them in the club store for the people that like the molds and colorschemes, but just aren't down with the funpub sculpts.
