Strange topic? Why should gayp eople not transformers fan? I have a gay buddy he was on holiday in my country and i say to him you can sleep in my bed. He slept by me for about 2 weeks...and now here comes the clue: I'am still alive and he does not **** me! Amazing, isn't it? We play a lot of warhammer so looks like gay people are also warhammer fans

interesting topic. But i have to ask.... Knowing that there are other gay TF fans, does this make you feel better? If so, why? Why would you (or anyone for that matter) think that there aren't any other gay TF fans out there?

This is not intended to start any kind of war. I have no problems what so ever with anyones sexual prefrance. Just a question.

Humans like to belong. We like to make groupings.

I like to know that there are Catholic Transformers fans.

Its probably also a comradiery (excuse spelling) thing. To know there are individuals who like the same things as you and are the same in outside activities is reassuring.

Well, I'm guessing that's what it is. >_<

I can understand wanting to belong;.. isn't that why were all here in the first place? I mean do we really have to start sub categorizing ourselves to the point were every aspect of our lives need to have some sort of grouping? Shouldn't the love/like for transforming vehicles be enough? What exactly is more reassuring about this kind of "camaraderie"?

The more and more people categorize themselves, the more society as a whole gives that particular group a more difficult time. And this goes for any personal life choice. Heck, even race or religious beliefs.

You guys are looking into things way too much. And thinking that "Transformer fan" should be a main category is nonsense. I like to think myself as part of several categories spread all around, including:

When your on a site dedicated to TF, then yes... It IS the main catagory. Never said there was anything wrong with being asociated with any other catagories, but you still failed to anwser my orignal questions. Why does all this matter?

Why does it matter to you? Out of all the threads on this forum, why do you need an explanation as to why it exists? You've been given two answers, yet you're acting like they're wrong answers.

Is it any different to someone starting a thread asking if there are any TF fans from Mongolia?
Or a thread asking if there are TF fans who are also into sailing?
Or maybe a thread seeing if there are TF fans that collect baseball cards?

People just want to communicate with other people, and if they have more than one shared interest/commonality then they're probably going to get along even better.

First and foremost before I answer your question. I prefer the term orientation because preference implies choice, and most of the people in here I think would agree that being gay, bisexual, straight, ect is not a choice.

Secondly to answer your question. I never had the intention of making my self feel better just by meeting new people. I mean this is after all what the site is for. The reason behind selecting the type of group of people is because I didn't know anyone else like my self who was other then straight and who was actually just as interested in transformers as I am. There are some people that have already read this thread that dislike the idea of someone being gay or whatever and that is also another reason to seek out people of like mind so if we became friends I would not be judged according to who I am as a person. Even if I did happen to meet a straight person at least I would know that they accepted it. However, the main basis of this thread was to just meet new people and have the open mindedness and personal conversation.

how was i acting like there answers were wrong? i simply asked if they could elaborate one answer, and the second one didn't answer my in ital question. And whats wrong with asking questions?

See, this is what i love about the Internet, and especially forums. For the most part, were all just a name. Nothing more. Everyone is given equal opportunities. Were not "labeled", were all just here to get along and for the most part talk about TF, or anything related. if someone doesn't get along with another, its generally due to their personality, or how they present themselves. Because there is still a stigma in some communities against certain ideas and lifestyles, homosexuality being one of them. Some chose to avoid such "hateful" communities, while others don't care and celebrate what they have. Again others hide their true nature in order to "fit in". It's a forced fit, with the question "how would they react if I came out" lurking around every corner. This is true in the real world, but some of that fear and uncertainty still seeps into the online world. Take a gander at an online newspaper, especially unmoderated ones. It's a feeling that's hard to get rid of, but once you've said it, it's a huge relief.

Your welcome. I wasn't really offended by the question or anything, I felt an honest answer was required to help understand. I think the biggest part of what happens in the world today is by misunderstanding and confusion. The only way to achieve understanding is to listen to each others point of view with out first judging that view on a first thought basis. If more people did this..I think the world would be better. ^-^

While i can agree with this, i think its became alot more tolable in the last few years. And to be honest, even those that don't agree with this lifestyle, still won't have a problem with it, or the individuals, as long as its not constantly being shoved in their face. I think thats one of the problems that the gay community has. Some feel the need to go all out and live the stereo type to its fullest. Taking every opportunity to let everyone know they are. While some who also live that lifestyle, but just want to go about there way. its one thing to be proud of who you are, but another to make everyone aware, forcing it upon others in hopes that they will just accept it.

As far as hiding who you are in order to "fit in", I'm still failing to see how knowing of someones sexual orientation is going to automatically make you get along with them more than if you hadn't know in the first place. The same can be said about knowing someone race, or religion. I'm black (Oops, i mean African American 8-}

), and knowing that another member is black, isn't going to make me get along with them any better, or view them differently than anyone else. I do understand what your saying though about how some people would. Its unfortunate that some do still think like that. But at the same time, its also unfortunate that others feel they need to come out in order to be accepted themselves.
