Since the official thread ha become a contnuity ar (which I guess is still on topic), I'll allow individual episode discussions, but one thread per episode.

I thought Episode 6 was like watching a G1 episode, it was great. THis show really feels like G1 and I like it a lot. Plus the Dinobots were awesome, I like how Grimlock picked his name and when he said "Me Grimlock!" and how he kept calling them "Car Robots" (an RID nod), was awesome. Plus having a Dinobot island was a cool idea too. I also like how they are combining elements of G1 Characters into each autobot as well (Prowl is like G1 Prowl, Beachcomber, and Mirage all in one).

To be honest, I'm liking new Prowl a lot more than the old one.

I also have to agree, that it felt like a G1 episode...... without the errors! :lol:

Thanks for opening this Getter. I wanted to discuss this episode but the other thread has just gone to hell.

Possible Spoilers:

Anyways...That episode just totally rocked! I found myself smiling the whole way through. I loved the Dinobots origin. It actually makes sense as to why they aren't intelligent, as opposed to real dinosaurs aren't smart, so their robotic equivalents can't be either. And Grimlock transforming at the end was awesome! Can't wait for new Dinobot toys!

I think it's very interesting how they are handling Megatron. We get to see how powerful he is even without a body.

I'm very pleasantly surprised at how much characterization we're getting with Prowl. They seem to have taken alot of care with him.

Great episode. I'm so glad that I have DVR.

I actualy enjoyed it.

It was human light which is very good in TFs but especialy this show. The sluggish mindsets were dead on to the early G1 DinoBots.

Megatron being their creator is an intresting twist as well.

Another thing I liked was they started with only 3, I know not the origional 3 but it still worked out.

Also, I loved when Slag ate the rocket!

The best Animated episode so far.

Loved the episode. I am so getting the Grimlock figure. And I want Grimlock to kick the tar out of Bulkhead before he allies with the Autobots. I'm loving Saturdays.

I agree, this was, essentially, like watching an updated version of G1. It was a great episode. I like Prowl's character development so far, but I'm glad they took the time to develop Bulkhead, too.

I love how Megatron told the Dinobots that he was their leader, and Grimlock said, "Me Grimlock leader!" That was classic!

I also loved how Megatron manipulated the Dinobots into working for him, anyway.

Awesome episode!

I liked it, but I hear 'My bad' way too often in the episodes.

And also, how the hell can Bulkhead beat all three dinos on his own? He will make one heck of a warrior with a bit more practice.

Grimlock and the dinos need some fighting techniques. It was certainly an enjoyable episode though.

I am very happy with both Prowl's and Megatron's characterizations.

And how about Kaye? Did he get a Grimlock voice spot on or what?

Will we ever hear Slag, and Swoop speak? :???:

Me Duke of Luns LOVE Dinobots! :grin:

Yeah, some aspects you just can't get rid of, and I've always loved dinosaurs. I'm also liking how the humans are being handled, we really do not see that much of Sari, specially when compared to the Armada kids, Kicker, the Cybertron kids(Koji from Rid was ok). Professor Sumac is also an interesting character, and Megatron's characterization and approach is top-notch. It's actually quite novel, as the only time I can ever remember a Megatron character being so "helpless" was briefly in Beast Machines. The Dinobots were awsome as I said, though I was also kinda annoyed that Slag and Swoop didn't speak or transform. Ah well, it was an introduction episode, and it's still early in the series.

This episode was fan-diddly-tastic.
I love the way they handled the Dinobots. Grimlock is exactly as he should be. I noticed Slag and Swoop didnt transform, speak, or even get names yet, but I'm thinking that Grimlock will teach them these things, thus making them loyal to him as opposed to Autobot or Decepticon. Then all we need is to hear "Me Grimlock king!"

I'm really enjoying the character development this series is bringing. Prowl is being developed nicely, and even Bulkhead is starting to become more than just a big green brick.

Megatron. Nuff Said. Megatron is sick, sadistic, diabolical, and all the other gloriously evil things that he should be. His relationship with Professor Sumdac actually makes me want to see the Professor onscreen more often, which is a first for any human character EVER.

It was great

Too bad we had to wait about 20 years to see the Dinos again and to hear that all familiar "ME Grimlock"

Kudos to the voice actor he sounded like Gregg Berger

It also reminde me of a few G1 episodes namely War of the Dinobots where the Dinobots followed Megatron for a short time there.

In a way it felt like G1 was back

Man, this episode was awesome. I couldn't believe how similar Grimlock's voice was to the original. I like the fact that the humans don't always have to be part of everything that happen's, it makes it seem that the focus is definately on the TFs (unlike AEC, where I felt like humans were the focus).

To those who reading this haven't seen it yet, don't make your mind up that you don't like the way the dinobots are portrayed until you see it. If you watch it with your mind already made up that you don't like these dinos then you wont enjoy the rest of the episode.

This espisode was pretty good. I have to say Im really enjoying this show so far and think its got some real potential. The Dinobots were basically the Dinobots which is a good thing. I was never really a big fan of the Dinobots growing up, but I guess its great for the fans that they are keeping them basicall their usual dumb selfs. I think it will fit in with the over all "lighter" tone of this new series. What I would like to see though is the Dinobots gain some intellegence over time though instead of keeping them retarded the whole time.

There were a few negative aspects about this episode though:

1. Bulkhead basically kicking all the dino's asses at will. Makes them seem less powerfull than they are made out to be if all its takes is Bulkhead to just decide to beat em up. I hoping this will just be chalked up to their battle field inexperience.

2. Bulkhead saying my bad all the time. Please stop this, its bad enough that people actually use this these days, but one would hope and think that 50 years from now nobody would still say it. :roll:

3. The theme park bot getting obliterated by all three Dinobots, poor bot.

Over all it was fun episode, I only wish that they would repeat it at night, 10:30 is too early damn it!

I'm still not sold on the Dinobots, and was less than impressed with their presence...however, the episode itself was made of pure win.

This show just keeps getting better and better with no signs of slowing down. I'm afraid I'm really going to miss it when it finally comes to an end.

Even my dad said "Wow. They *ARE* writing these better. I like it."

Me, Chaoslock... Err... I mean I liked it. I'm not fan of the G1 cartoon dinobots, I like the comic versions better, but I liked how Grimlock learned everything. I hope hw will be smarter in the end than his G1 toon counterpart.
Megatron: "Listen well, Grimlock... I am Megatron, your leader"
Grimlock: "Me, Grimlock, Leader!"

It was interesting, that in the dino-park, Grimlock seemed considerably bigger than any autobot, but in the end, he was as big as Bulkhead.

Brilliant.

The voice work was once again outstanding, if this series will be remembered for anything, it will be the voice work.

Grimlock was very reminiscent of early G1, Although I would have loved for Slag and Swoop to have a few lines too, for the moment it seems as though they are just dumb robots (which I am willing to bet they are not).

I am interested in knowing which Autobot was focused on more in the skipped episode 5, Bulkhead was the focus, although Prowl once again had a good amount of focus. Megatron was also well portrayed as scheming and patient, biding his time, so good work there as well.

Optimus Prime seems to have the least characterization of the Autobots, which is very odd to say the least. (I expect episodes with Magnus and Sentinel Prime to give him more backstory and character).

Good episode, the series has stayed strong after a great opening, hope it stay this strong throughout its run.

What I am most excited about the Dinobots is how are they going to translate to new toys! We have not had a Slag since 1985! I will have to get these guys when they come out for sure now.

All I can say about the new show is that it is good, but It took me a while to get over the Teen Titan look, but the story telling has been pretty solid so far.

I realise this is a cartoon developed for kids, but do they have to insult the intelligence of children like they do?

Professor Sumdac - He can reverse engineer alien technology but he takes an alien robot at his word even though it's clearly obvious Megatron is manipulating him. But Sumdac just buys into every word Megatron tells him.

Not even a little suspicious that Megatron doesn't want his Autobot "friends" to know about him?

Not even a little suspicious that Megatron's "adjustments" to the Dinobots is probably what sent them out of control?

Come on ... most kids aren't even that stupid.

No, i'm not being negative because it's Animated, i've just never been a fan of retard Grimlock. Or Grimlock in general for that matter, but his retard incarnation was always pathetic.

I will conceed though that how it was written certaintly explains their lack of intelligence.

And I know people are all excited how this was basically a retelling of how the Dinobots were introduced in the G1 cartoon. But do we need a retelling? What happened to this being a fresh new approach? New stories?

This series is still yet to impress me greatly.

It kinda bothered me that even after Prowl mentioned the Dinobots could be sentient, Prime was still fine with them being destroyed. With Prowl being the one to free them, I'm hoping this point is addressed in a later ep (12?).
