HUGE NEWS from SDCC: New Movie Toys, Classics 2.0, First Look at "Animated" Toys!
- Weapon: Sword
I'm in full support of the animated figures. A welcome expansion to the TF universe. Kudos to Hasbro for their foresight. They are sitting on a gold mine.

Hasbro promised us Sideswipe and Sunstreaker would be seperate moulds. I just don't get how they could make less repaints back then. Not to mention there are plenty of other chars they could repaint them into, maybe Wheeljack or Nightbeat.
The animated series toys have pleased me quite a bit. Both Deluxe and Voyager Optimus Prime look like amazing toys. Unfortunately some other toys look like they're lacking some detail. However, they could make up for it in paint apps.
I really do like them. I think I might get all of them. They're just fantastic in their stylisation - they look sleek and quirky, but not all bendy like the actual animation models seem to be.

I thought they said they would be the same mold but with two different ways to transform them so they would look different in robot mode. Either way they look exactly the same, kinda lame.
The new movie toys look awesome! The repaints are crap but the new molds are seriously bad ass and I will be getting them all.
The new animated figures are absolutely terrible, I was actually laughing when I saw the pictures. I give the designers mucho credit for being able to translate those ridiculous drawings into 3D form but I don't like that style at all and will not be buying any of them, which is probably a good thing since I already don't have room to display my movie figures. Oh well, guess I'll have to wait until the movie sequel to get new toys.

I was skeptical about this "animated" series, but was quietly confidant that it would be worth it. After seeing these slides and the toyline...
I AM COMPLETELY SOLD ON THIS NEW "ANIMATED" SERIES, BRING IT ON!
This combined with the Movie line (which will thankfully continue into next year!) will be great for fans like myself, who were starting to grow tired of the same old thing in every series! Everything is new again, but everything stays great!
Holy crap, that Scion XB Soundwave with the guitar is friggin' hilarious and awesome at the same time! Look at how they got his chest perfect! Even the wheels act like "speakers"!

Blackout repaint is nasty.
G1 Voyager Optimus Prime, Classic Sideswipe and Sunstreaker, yes please.
Octane looks interesting.
The Transformers Animated stuff makes me sad. I actually prefer the look of the Movie design asthetic. These look like they are Fisher Price toys. Thank god for the Classics 2.0.

Movie:
I can't believe we're getting the Sector 7 Dune Buggy, and a Cadillac Escalade!
G1 Prime repaint is fangasm, though the mold still doesn't interest me, at all. =\
I can't wait for Leader Brawl, but I think the repaint is a bad idea. I don't see it selling all that well.
Nightvision (or whatever he's called) sucks.
Classics 2.0:
Sunstreaker and Sideswipe are excellent.
Triple Changer Octane is just beautiful. (This one would've gotten a cheer out of me.)
Animated:
Well...I'll give them credit for one thing, they did make them show accurate, or as close as they could get. Which confirmed my worst fears...I hate the toys, even a little more than I imagined. I was actually holding out hope, I really was, but I was letdown...even more than I thought I'd be.
Optimus....ugh.
Bumblebee is cute but not buy worthy.
Ratchet seems to have a neat transformation, but nothing stellar.
Dinobots....fantastic, but still not enough to get me to buy.
Black Arachnia...fantastic as well.
Overall I'm not going to buy these, but I will give them credit for one other thing...I like the way their panels all lock up for vehicle mode, and make a nice tight transformation.
All in all, it wasn't a total wash in terms of news, more positives than negatives, but I just can't wrap my mind around those Animated figures. -_-

I actually like the Cliffjumper repaint, he looks badass
The other movie toys and the classics concepts are great too, I can't wait for Sideswipe.
As for the Animated toys, the only one that doesn't look like crap is Bumblebee and it isn't by much. I have very low expectations for this series.

I'm reserving judgment until the animated toys and series are released. It might turn into another Bay, where everyone was suspicious of it and then it ends up making bucketloads of money via good show and good toys. So, not to be optimistic nor pessimistic. I await their release!

Maybe we'll get a transforming version of Sparkplugs Car (sam's dad) or even a Transforming vending machine action figure.
Anyway Sunstreaker is one of my favourite Trannies and if the classics toy looks like that i'll be one happy chappy!

O_o...I can't understand a word of this. I'm not trying to be mean, honest...I just can't understand it. I'm going to try and decipher it...
"The Classics look great, no, awesome. But the Animated series toys... People of Seibertron and the land of TFW2005 and any TransFormers fans, gear yourselves up, because if we're going to get more toys like this for the next few years, also remember that there's going to be two seasons of this, so two waves are to come. Get ready for hell people, and Takara/Tomy get your product back and make some more TransFormers toys like one or two more Masterpiece toys like Jazz or Shockwave. Just saves us from the insanity that is around the corner, this time and have yourselves all a nice Saturday night. I'm out."
1.) There are plenty more than two waves of the Animated line. We're going to see wave after wave of them.
2.) Jazz and Shockwave are nice and all, but I doubt we'll see Masterpieces of either one. Though Shockwave would be more plausible.

Blackout repaint? Agreed.
Classics? Yes indeedy.
Animated? Exactly. I couldn't quite figure out what it was that bothered me, but you got it. They're Fisher Price TFs. And while they're fun for the kids (which is great, don't get me wrong!) they tend to leave a lot of us out in the cold. Fortunately we're getting more movie figures, and more Classics.

We don't know for sure how Sunstreaker and Sideswipe will transform, so we can't really complain about it just yet. We might be surprised...Hasbro's done it before.
I'll buy 'em anyway, though. And I'm so glad the movie line is continuing, and can't wait for the next movie and it's toyline.
