None of the GotG have a counter to that powerset (aside from Cosmo). Which would be interesting

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special has dropped on D+.
The big take from it is Go-Bots are officially canon in the MCU (and are responsible for the death of Drax's cousin) plus Batman/Bruce Wayne are also mentioned.

Actually the big take is that Mantis is Quills sister.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

There seems to be a sense of finality to this film. Even just from the trailer. I wouldn't be surprised if the after credits scene simply debuts Marvel's best space character to fill the void...

I can understand the finality, what with James Gunn now doing Feige's job but with DC, I doubt the actors will be up for more roles.
Given the new (old) Disney boss I have to wonder if there will be changes to how Marvel are doing things, movie and TV wise

You think he's the best? Based on what qualifications? Marvel has a lot of good space characters. That guy's boss, for example.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:There seems to be a sense of finality to this film. Even just from the trailer. And who is considered a "space character?" Someone who spends the majority of her/his time there? What about someone who came from another planet but spends a lot of time on Earth?

That's a surprising amount of questions? I didn't think SS was that obscure??
Anyway, I suppose I should have stipulated best heroic space character. He is Marvel's equivalent to Superman (That isn't one of the direct homages). Galactus is beyond good and evil. Norrin Radd, isn't.
'Cosmic Marvel' is it's own subgenre of the Marvel Universe. All the space-based characters are listed and categorised, feats and all. Should you wish to google.

It's not about obscurity. I was asking what makes him "the best" to you? You threw that out there like it's a consensus among Marvel fans that he is, as opposed to it being your opinion.

No, that's just how you weirdly chose to read it. There was no generalising prefix to anything I said. I'm not one of those self-conceited types that think I speak for anyone but myself.
That said, as a fan of villains and general outliers. My tastes rarely align with pop culture consensus.

Yes, you did. You plainly stated "the best Marvel space character" as if it was accepted fact.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Rodimus Prime wrote:It's not about obscurity. Then you should probably qualify your statements with a phrase such as "I think" or "In my opinion" as opposed to how I mentioned above.I'm not one of those self-conceited types that think I speak for anyone but myself.
So would you care to answer the question, or do we just leave this at our grammatical disagreement?

Re: MCU Magneto
- Motto: "Guilty or Innocent?

An interesting quote from Tumblr
The argument for changing Magneto’s ethnic and cultural background in order to make his experiences/perspective more “modern” is just wrong. That idea treats anti-semitism like a solved problem when it absolutely is not. All anti-semitism did not end when WWII did. Magneto bears relevance to this day, and there are plenty of ways comics have explained away his age. The MCU can certainly do the same. You cannot have Magneto without him being Jewish. You cannot have Magneto without him being a survivor.

‘Deadpool 3’ – First Look at Hugh Jackman in the Classic Wolverine Costume!
- Motto: "Guilty or Innocent?
Always Guilty..." - Weapon: Particle Beam Cannon

The character’s first official foray into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Deadpool 3 is arriving in theaters on May 3, 2024, and a new sneak peek image has been shared this week.
Hugh Jackman will be back as Wolverine one more time in Deadpool 3, reprising the role he had allegedly played for the final time in Logan back in 2017.
He’s of course starring alongside Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool.
Reynolds has taken to social media to share the above first look image this morning, featuring Deadpool and Wolverine side-by-side. It’s a still from the upcoming Deadpool 3, and the most notable thing about the image is that it features Jackman fully suited up in the classic yellow/black Wolverine costume that fans have been dying to see him step inside of.

Hopefully has a mask. I'm a bit sick of superhero films skimping on the masks to show off the actors faces. They aren't who the fans are watching the film for...

So has anyone else been watching Secret Invasion? The last episode dropped today and I've gotta, aside from Samuel L Jackson and Olivia Colman. This is probably the worst MCU show to date? Even She-Hulk picked up a little in the last few episodes.

I've read about it, but not watched, and kinda glad I haven't, seeing as how it assassinated Rhodey's character and Maria Hill

I can assure you, having read about the finale today and the implications of such, it has. Maybe not his personality, but the character yes, if that makes sense

But, the implication is that he was replaced during/immediately after the events of Civil War.
Meaning, Infinity war/Endgame Rhodey was not Rhodey, and that erases a lot of important things for him in the timeline. And makes a lot of things much more questionable.

Oh I get what you mean now. I've seen a lot of discourse on character assassination based on out of context scenes from the show. I must admit the dialogue is strange in that part. Almost like it was added in post-production akin to "Duke woke up from his coma" from GI Joe The Movie. There is enough wiggle room for interpretation wherein they could be referring to his absence purely covering the events of the show, the MCU in general post-Blip. Or Earlier.

It was a bit of a snooze fest. Perhaps it ended with a set up for The Marvels? Hard to tell.
Unless stuff happens down the line it was a pretty pointless series.

The thing I don't understand is that the MCU has done an Espionage Thriller before. I still think The Winter Soldier is one of their strongest films. Yet this show would indicate someone who has never attempted the genre before. Given all the tropes and clichés used throughout. Plus the complete lack of tension to any of the stakes the show talks about.
