Not really. People were able to get metroplex for 50$ at costco right before he was sold out. And his price is huge now. If there is one lesson I have learnt its this: if you want a toy, buy it before you cant anymore, and then be happy you have it

I live in a pretty largely populated area, and never even saw a Metroplex at retail, and lord knows I tried, even used other peoples Costco memberships to get in stores & try to find one. This would have been the toy that broke my long streak of non-collecting, but it took another 3 years since Metroplex was never found. Not saying that TR Fort Max is a shelf warmer by any means, but he certainly isn't as hard to find, seems like Hasbro produced way more of FM than Metroplex.

I'm talking about MIB/MISB. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for a loose Metroplex even if it was complete, which is highly unlikely.

I wasn't even collecting 3 years ago, and didn't even know about BBTS...maybe stores should have had them in stock, to a reasonable degree, so that the average person could just buy them? Metroplex was available at toysrus.com as well for $129. Here is a post from then, and he was there with a BOGO sale too, which means you could get any other toy you buy half price in the same order.

Its the same as Victorion or CW Computron. It was an expensive toy that you could get online and for real cheap at particular places.

The only reason Metroplex is expensive now is because there are people who want him now that didnt get him back when he was at retail. If the demand is the same for Fort Max once he leaves the shelves, then the aftermarket price will be the same. My thoughts are that Metroplex was a far more substantial update to his original g1 self than Fort Max is and thus there is a lower demand. But we will see if that holds true in 3 years from now. Also, no one debated getting the Encore vs the gen version, unlike Fot Max, where the Encore is still a viable option.

Depends. I got Battle in Space Cyclonus off Ebay for £15 (admittedly without Nightstick), and he was in perfect condition. Might as well have been new for all I knew.

It seems Walmart.com has put out a better deal for PowerSurge Optimus Prime. Not surprising as deals tend to get better as the season goes along and even after Black Friday.

As much as walmart does have good deals, I recommend being VERY careful buying from their site. I see some shady looking 3rd parties overcharging for figures.



It doesn't really affect us smart collectors but it boils my blood that the people that actually get taken advantage of are parents buying for kids.
