The Star Wars Toy Haul Thread
Re: The Star Wars News and Toy Haul Thread
I resolved not to buy anymore StarWars figures on my last birthday but they've been puttn out some good stuff lately. I'm all about the old trilogy for the most part. Recent aquisitions: shirtless Darth Maul, Lea as Jabba's Slave, Jedi Duel Luke, Ewoks, and something I've been wanting Capt. Neeta.

Hell, I've never seen him, and I'd buy him like crazy.
Is anyone else disappointed that the new wave of Target exclusive two packs are a Jedi and a Battledroid, as opposed to the tried and true Jedi/Clone of the Order 66 sets? Lord knows I am.

I'm sorry, I know this was posted a while back, but in May I think I got this also, and as I'm in kind of a pinch for display space for a toy of this size it's still sealed up. I was wondering, does anyone know how it compares in size to the ROTJ B-wing from the 80s? I have that in the basement of my mothers' house, so it's not exactly accessible to me to compare them, but it seems smaller, like a bunch smaller. I don't know, just curious if anyone who has both ever took the time to compare the two.

I'm not sure but this maybe the same mold from back then
ANYWAYS:
I'm not going to name all the figures but lets say I just finished building 4 more astromechs to my evergrowing astromech collection
I have nearly 50 of them inluding the astromechs from Star Tours and R2-KT

Today I went through my old boxes of figures and found my favourite Luke Skywalker: from Tatooine? (don't know exactly how to spell that, sorry) and I think its when we first meet him (been a long time since I've seen the movie, sorry again); he comes with a miniture x-wing that he can play with. All my figures are from the '90s; I probably have almost every one that came out back then. I havn't bought one recently unil I just bought a Yoda with a cloth robe- I'm a suker for the cloth look on Star Wars figues- it makes them look kinda vintage, like from the '70s and '80s. Any way - I'm rambling so no one is interested but I just wanted to share my Star Wars experience that I had today with everyone.

So I was perusing some of the newer SW figs when I noticed the latest build a droid had not one but two Flame throwers. Two questions:
1) does he really come with the plastic frames as pictured?
2) does this figure come in any other form so I don't have to buy 6 different figures?

Well I don't know about the first but yeah it sucks if you want that droid not only you have to buy 6 but you have to get figures you wouldn't mormally get

Eh, such is life. I'll look for the arms and see if it comes with flame attachments.

Well the arms do come with the flame attachments which I think are also the same ones that came with Jango Fett a few years back and was in a Joe convention set. New problem. I can only find the figures with the parts in them at Khols who charge $11.99 a figure. I have another TRU and a Target to check but I'm not holding out hope.

I did look on BBTS and with shipping it comes out to the same price if not a little more than Khols. Something tells me I'm gonna have to get ready to take it.

Just finished assembling the lego TIE defender... awesome.

Not caring about scale since 1984. Just like Hasbro.

Made the TIE Defender over a week ago. it's a nice set. However, I've noticed that they got the wrong wing configuration for the TIE Defender. If you look back a the past simulator games, you'll see what I mean.

Of course not. It's just surprising to see a SW fan admit he hasn't played the best Star Wars game ever made.

Oh, yeah. Personally, I'd rank XWA a little highter than TIE Fighter, and only because you get to do the Battle of Endor in that game.

Re: The Star Wars News and Toy Haul Thread
I actually didn't like that part of the game. It wasn't how I envisioned participating in that battle. You were under a time limit and you took down Executor sooner than it was supposed to go. In the movie, only two Calamari Crusiers were taken out before the Rebel Fleet mixed itself in with the Star Destroyers to take the Death Star out of the equation. The Emperor was too preoccupied with Luke to give the order to fire on anything just to get to the Rebels and I don't think Moff Jejjerrod was willing to sacrifice Star Destroyers on his own to get the the Rebels as he could've inadvertantly done them a favor by opening up a gap for some to escape.
I always envisioned it being this massive battle loaded with Star Destroyers and the Executor with endless swarms of TIEs with you in a starfighter and then you could choose to go with Lando and Wedge or stay and fight outside and take down the Executor.

It all really comes down to game mechanics, really. Video games usually have to diverge from the canon in order to give a more realistic playing experience.
