Hell now... leave Jazz Dead. These guys need to be dying and new ones need to take their place hear and there. You can't kill Iron Hide. He had way more of a roll than Jazz in the cartoon. Plus Jazz is replacable. I love Jazz... but he went out in a big way. Soeone had to get their ass beat. Prime took out Boncrusher, Megs took out Jazz.

They should have show more action on the highway when Prime is off with Bonecrusher. I want to see Brawl and Barricade split up and what happens before they reach the city.

1. No hacker subplot. Totally useless. Get rid of those characters and scenes all together.

2. No BB trying to get Sam laid. Funny as it was, it was useless.

3. Completely change the Sam's interrogation scene. Cut the whole "Eyein' my piece 50 cent" line, it was stupid. Cut the douche bag bad cop character, he was annoying and useless.

4. Lay off the human character development, especially the soliders. They were basically cannon fodder to begin with, I really didn't care about Fig's mother's cooking.

5. Focus on the Prime vs. Megatron fight. These to have been arch enemies for centuries, yet when Prime delivers his "One shall stand" line, they focus on Sam. WTF! Easily the most recognized line in TF history, and not so much as a shot of Prime saying it, lame.

6. Character development for the Decepticons. Why are they here? What's driving them? Starscream was there commander, yet we didn't see him until the end. What were his orders, his ambitions and such? Bonecrusher' profile says he hates everything, yet nothing in the movie shows that. They all need to be explained.

That's what I'd do.

Plus arcee, and any fembots... aren't really needed. I'm sorry, but the fembots didn't really do anything positive for the franchise except bring up the question, do transformers reproduce like humans. Thats a question the franchise doesn't need for multiple reasons. One it makes us transformers fans look even geekier than we actually are, second Arcee blew character wise, and I honestly don't see Arcee being any different for Tf2, unless they made her really macho, and at that point they might as well just make her a dude.

As for all your other "changes," who cares if Ironhide was black and not red? The color didn't make Ironhide who he was, while I do agree with you somewhat on the personality. That needed an alteration, but only minor so he wasn't gun happy, but more than itchy to sock it to the 'cons.

What the hell is the michael j. fox as bumblebee thing? I don't get that, unless you're trying to make a joke on his parkinsons thing. And if you are you're a terrible person.

Mikaela as a name was fine. This wasn't G1, so while it could have been Carly, Mikaela will work fine too. Sorry.

Sam works better than Spike (again not G1), because Spike isn't something you'd name your kid. Thats more of a thing you'd name a dog.

Optimus wasn't the one who landed in the pool.... so no **** it didn't look like him. If you actually paid attention to that scene, you see that the guy who landed in the pool scanned the black pickup alt right after the whole "oh my god what happened to the pool" scene when the guy came out of his house.

The whole reason for the focus on humans in this as opposed to on the transformers themselves is the same story as half my responses. Not G1. Different story and focus. Besides, the casual movie goer needs to be convinced this isn't jsut your average sci-fi movie about giant robots. To get people on the edge of their seat, you have to throw in a human element to the mix and make it more like the transformer's war is now our war. Besides, now that an overall plot has been introduced, the focus can shift alittle bit more towards the transformers as they fight on earth (aka movie 2 and movie 3).

And your prime idea... while interesting (considering you pretty much got the idea from the war within) probably wouldn't matter and just confuse the casual movie goer. Are the 2 "primes" the same person, a reincarnation? Etc. To make sure people wouldn't have this confusion they would have to take more time to explain something that has nothing to do with the main plot. Thats not economic. Period.

Keep into mind that any decisions hollywood makes, unless its a star wars or star trek movie, they only care about the general movie goer, so most of the decisions will be dictated around that. Its not that they won't cater to the basics for old fans to enjoy it too, its just some changes need to be made, and those changes can be quite drastic ( as you can see from the designs, plot points, and even the characters themselves).

Get rid of 75% of the Humans the Sector 7 Garbage, pointless Hacker Garbage and yes you Horny nerds Id get rid of Megan (make out on top of Bumblebee) Fox. I would add a awesome Ark Scene add more Autobots and Decepticons. Have Megatron look like Megatron and give the decepticons actual character. And I would make it so that people dont have to be Power level of 1000 just to see the action.

i think Trence5's idea for Micheal J Fox to voice bumblebee would have been a great idea, if Bumblebee was going to get a good amount of lines in the first movie. His voice leans more to the G1 toon but is still different while the actor's involvement would stir up public interest too.

Infact, I'ld have given a slight narration job for him so to warrant his services in the 1st movie.

I can appreciate the human involvement, though it was more for the non fans to get involved. Still, unless the human actors are going to be featured in the later movies I'ld have limited them in favor of some TF character development.

Fembots in movie one would cause raiser too many questions. Unless they did it very understated, like just giving one a feminine voice and perhaps a slight fem design look. That could pave the way for more in the following movie.

Judge Deliberata was right with some of the lines connotations. I'ld like to think this was targeted for a more worldwide audience.

I'm sure there are other gripes but The way the movie came out has made it possible for a trilogy and a larger fan base than just the TF fan populis. I'm sure the following movies would be more fan oriented but for the first to succeed, i don't think it could have.

I got what i wanted out of the first movie... a second, and promising third. I'm just hoping it doesn't end like the X-men trilogy did for me...

OK when IRONHIDE came out of the pool, you saw the house, then the very next scene is when ironhide scans the Topkick in front of the same house on his way out.

Specially includes Sam, the pres, used car salesmen, military, hackers, whatever flavor of the month wannabe actress who is only asset is her ass, cans and face, etc. We really do not need them if you stop and think about it. For the second film we can easily start showing the Earth in chaos. How? Flashback to the widespread destruction that we want the Decepticons to wreck. This brings me to #2.
2. WRECK SOME HAVOC!! Show the Decepticons going on a worldwide rampage! With the exception of the small ones all the regular sized ones can blow up a nuclear reactor or destroy a damn with ease. Even the combined might of the Autobots and the humans could not prevent multiple BLITZS across the globe. A few of them and well the humans won't be an issue they'd be dead crushed under rubble.
3. MAJOR BATTLES! The title "their war our planet" was lame. What war? A few puny fights and Bay calls that a "war"? WTF? Dude get it right! Make this epic sized, we should all be sh*t'g in our pants OMG if this happened the entire planet is doomed. The film was too isolated if you existed in the films timeline and you weren't the same major city or whereever the hell they had the battles, you probably wouldn't even know about the "war". Think about it a war would be something everyone would be fearing, running for shelters (there's your token human focus) all the while the TFs are using our planet as a massive battleground. Nice!
4. MUCH MORE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT for the Transformers, frack the humans! Honestly could care less if Spike, Sam, a porn star or the tooth fairy found Megs. Show MEGATRON at full strength leading his army and conquering everyone. Likewise who the hell are the Autobots and why the frack should I care? Bay make us care that is where good character development comes in. If you cannot write then don't pull a Lucas and do everything to your 'vision'. IMO the TFs as a whole were tools, two dimensional and boring. Bay made them that way b/c as a director he had far too much control over the film.
5. REDUCE or better yet COMPLETELY AVOID the lame ebonics slang and movie tie in jokes. We don't care about any of the human actors. So having a known/established actor on the cast is meaningless... kids do not care. Most of us just want to see the TFs kick the sh*t out of each other.

1) I would depict Prime doing a better job @ kicking Megatron's exhaust port. He'd still be out matched but not that badly out matched.

2) I would either have Barricade stasis locked from his battle w/ Bumblebee, or I would show what happened to him from the highway scene, why he disappeared, etc...

3) Elaborate a little more on the Xbox 360, Mountain Dew vending machine, transform the whole car and not just the steering wheel, and transform the motorbike thus bringing in Arcee. These newbies would then turn around and get blasted to smithereens by the respective opponents.

To all who keep screaming for "More robots, less humans!"

It's been stated I don't know how many times how expensive it was to render each second of robot footage. If the movie would've had more robots and less humans, and the same budget, it would've been about 45 minutes long. They had to have the human scenes to bring it to 2 hours.

That's also the reason that there are no deleted scenes with the robots. It was so expensive, they deleted the scenes in the storyboard stage, before any rendering was done.

You're just not going to get a live-action Transformer movie without a good bit of scenes with no robots. I expect TF2 to have just as much human time, MAYBE a little less. Maybe by TF3 the cost of the CGI will have gone down enough to have a mostly robot movie, but then again, what's the point of a movie about robots that turn into HUMAN vehicles, if there's no humans in it?

Who said i was "screaming" about more ransformers and less humans? I calmly posted that yes, a little less on the humans ( the cop scene when sam was aressted could have so been cut out) and a little more on the Transformers would have been nice.

Now i didn't say anything about cutting all or most of the humans out, just a little less on the Bs would have made the film better.

Yes making the film is expensive and yes it would have costed more if we had more screen time of the Transformers. You have to remember that they will get that money back with box office sales not to mention that with any movie they release dvds now and then have later releases with more content. Its not like they went broke making this film nor would they have if they filmed more on the Transformers themselves.

Don't get me wrong, i enjoyed the movie alot, infact im getting ready to watch it again and i loved it when i saw it on the big screen. All im saying is a few suggestions on ( as this thread is about) what i would have changed in the movie, the less humans more robots is one of them.

I greee with all your points! The problem when making the movie, however, was at the time they didn't KNOW they were going to make their money back . The movie could've bombed, so it wasn't likely there was going to be any more money allowed for "More Robots". They had to make the movie with the budget they had.

Now that TFs is a proven franchise that's made a killing, they just might bump up the budget for the next one. And hopefully Bay will use the extra money to render more Bots, and not to blow up more stuff.

But, I wouldn't hold out hope for more than 10 or 15 more minutes of on-screen Bot time, compared to TF 1.

And since this thread is SUPPOSED to be "How You'd change the movie", I'll give my opinion:

I would have liked more Bots and less humans as well .

Hmmm yes, that is a good point Loki Well i agree that i think they will go the extra limb and hopefully add more tiem to the bots, anyway thats enough of saying that over and over .
