I'm sorry - I don't know how to fix them. IIRC, being in a humid, dry room isn't going to help them, though. Nor is direct sunlight or being close to a radiator.
I'm afraid that all that may be left is to light some insense, burn the tracks and say a prayer.
Which makes me think - why isn't somebody producing KO rubber tires?

While I can't help you fix the rotted treads, I could recommend something to you to save any of your newer figs (Movieverse OP, Alternity, etc.) from the eventual split.
Try Holts Rubber and Nylon Lubricant. I bought a can of it and tried it on a junker toy car's rubber tires. It alters the surface a bit, turning the sticky matte into a slightly smoother surface. It's only noticeable if you really pay attention to it, and even then, it's probably just my mind subconsciously telling me it's different.
It's been over a month now, and the tires on the junker seems to be fine. I'll be applying it onto any of my TF's with rubber tires when I have time.
Any way you look at it, it's better than to watch them rot away.

perhaps you can find a cheap one on ebay. in poor condition but with great tank rubber threads.
maybe buy the KO. DON'T really know if it comes with rubber or plastic tank threads.

After reading this last night I went and checked my Dai Atlas and lo and behold, BOTH of his treads are split and hanging loose. There is nothing like seeing something you paid $300+ on MIB turn to a pile of worthless s**t before your very eyes. First impulse was to bounce it off the nearest wall, but calmer reasoning got me to thinking about possible non-rubber materials with which to create replacement treads, such as that canvassy kind of fabric they make camera straps out of and stitching on those horizontal traction stripes.
Really, there is a reason to put rubber tires on a real car, but it is positively worthless on a toy as evidenced by not only this situation but by all the RID split tires out there. Treads should be made out of plastic links ala Lego rather than crap rubber.

I have to agree with you about the tires. I noticed that the latest Encore rubber wheels tend to get white as opposed to the original ones.

Me too. My wife's rabbit chewed several large holes in one of the tires for my MP Prime. Bad bunny!

The tread breaking on my vintage Star Convoy is the reason I finally got the reissue. The tires on my Car Robots Super Fire Convoy and RiD Ultra Magnus are long since snapped as well. I'm afraid for my MP Optimus and Magnus!

Rubber tyres aren't all bad, sure they can perish, but they are a lot easier to replace than a damaged plastic wheel. They also help to add a little more authenticity to the toy, look more ascetically pleasing in my opinion. Plus they pose less of a scratch risk to potential play surfaces, when compared to the all plastic affairs.

I fixed my RID Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus split tires with super glue. It worked very well, just careful don't put too many.

THIS. We need someone like Reprolables to make reprotires (or Reprotyres if you will). I think that would be an excellent segway product for them.

Huh. This reminds me that my RID Prime & Magnus tires were degrading...and they're the newer Cybertron reissue too.

Producing a sticker sheet is a lot easier and cheaper than producing a set of toy tires.

If the tires are made to order, money in hand, I don't personally see the problem.
This (producing rubber tires) needs investigating.
