I like them both but just getting one. I'm torn between these two, aside from price which of the two is preferred? I would also love to hear from those that own both. Thanks for your input.

Fanproject G3 Trailer

I have the G3 trailer and you can't go wrong with fansproject. It has weapons for other classics figures. It can tow the City Commander or Powered Commander trailers. Also you can't beat the stealth mode. It also has a roller firing mechanism. I think there is more bang for your buck with the G3 trailer.

The BTS trailer looks a little off to me. I like the G1 look of the G3 trailer. The quality of the G3 trailer is top notch. I can't speak to the quality of the BTS trailer but judging from their other products *cough* sonicron *cough* it doesn't fill me with confidence.

I've got the Fanproject G3 Trailer, it is awesome, no doubt about it. The extra weapons are nice and not only does it have that G1 feel, it have that real trailer feel

Don't know anything about the other one, but if you're wanting to steer clear of something more G1 then I'd go for it.

I did not know that! Sonicron is my current Classics Soundwave and he is the BIGGEST PIECE OF *&%$#! I have ever come across!!!

Go with the G3. Better to be safe than massively disappointed.

I have both trailers and I must say that for Prime, you gotta go with the FansProject trailer. The plastic is better, it's bigger and it comes with some more accessories.

Oh, hey... someone with both! Maybe I can finally get an answer to something I've been wondering for some time. Can the BTS trailer be towed by the Fansproject trailer, using the fold out bit intended to tow the City Commander style trailers? And for bonus points, if such a thing can work, do you have the means to provide a photograph showing what that would look like?

To the original poster, while it seems redundant at this point given everyone else's firm advocation of it, I'll throw my support behind the excellence of the G3 trailer as well. If you want my in-depth thoughts on it, it (and, of course, the Optimus it goes with) were the subject of my website's first review.

Well I like the BTS trailer. The quality of the plastic is as good as most current Transformers. I like the way it opens, and I like that it's NOT as similar to the G1 trailer. Classics OP is very different from G1 OP, so why shouldn't the trailer be different too? Also, the BTS trailer looks great with the Reprolabels set. And while I'm not sure what the price are currently, I got the BTS trailer for $50, which I think is cheaper than the FansProject one.

I own the BTS trailer. I like it a lot. It looks more streamlined than the Fansproject one. I think it fits in better with the aesthetic of Classics Prime.

Guys... You've been awesome, thanks for all the input. With all your help, I've come to a decision. Yes they are both nice and oh so very different but head to head the Fanproject G3 Trailer wins hands down. It has a minimum of a handful more of cool features and it's much more playable and poseable. The BTS trailer looks awesome in both modes and is a sexy display piece but that's where IMO it ends. I managed to score a order on eBay for $85 shipped total. Very fair if I must say so myself. Thanks again.

I would love to get the G3 trailer.... It is funny, but the only thing that holds me back is the the stripe on the trailer is not perfect G1. In G1 in angles up toward the rear I believe?

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't someone on one the boards put the G3 trailer and the MP-10 trailer side by side and they were the same size?

I have the japan mech-tech trailer and it fits classics prime pretty good, but it is just so plain!!??!

Well, I don't have an exact side-by-side pic, but here is a photo with a whole bunch o' Primes, including the MP-10 and the Classics with G3 Trailer.

This was basically my photo of, "G1 Primes with trailers." I suppose I could have included Star Convoy, as he is technically a G1 Prime, but he didn't quite seem like he fit the photo. Yet I did for some reason include Orion Pax, even though he doesn't technically have a trailer, just has a rear part of his vehicle suggestive of it. Whatever.

Because of the angle, I suppose the G3 trailer actually looks much larger then the MP-10 one in that photo... but in reality, they are pretty close to the same size.

Yeah, the stripe isn't an exact replica of the G1 Prime... but I think it works quite well for Classics Prime. And anyway, if you're looking for a trailer to homage G1 goodness, I think few would argue that the G3 trailer doesn't do that much better then the BTS one.

I dont know about the G3 trailer.

I do own the BTS and I love it because it's different from the G1. The Optimus himself is different enough so it was a must. Still, the real reason I got this one over the G3 was the price. 20$, bought in person from a fellow Québécois. At that price, you cant go wrong!

The only fault is the ball-joints of the repair drone are loose. Nothing some crasy glue cant fix!

By the way, speaking of trailers, I bought the KO MP-01 trailer for a whopping 120$ shipped. No regrets because that thing is perfect. Complete with Roller and extra guns! However, one of the trailer's "leg" is kinda loose. Still, I'm glad my MP-01 Last Shot is finally complete.

I think the Fansproject is in BBTS for about $60.

Personally, i love the Fansproject trailer. I own this one and have no regrets whatsoever about getting it......
