Anyone know when these come out?
I'm actually glad to hear so many people down on these because perhaps that means I'll have an easier time finding them in stores. Honestly, since they all appear to be G1 and look great, I want them all! And I want them now! (to paraphrase Queen.) A good point was made in that some collectors who snap up similar PVC figures from Japan are turnng their noses up at these. Is it just because the toys are displayed in the section of the store for younger kids?

I don't know. I remember one pack being a Rodimus vs. Insecticon pack. I would guess that these would be the Energon versions...

Ah...similar to those Star Wars and Marvel lines that Hasbro is doing. That's cool. These are sweet!

They're mini non-transforming SD figures, possibly with better articulation and a cheaper price than the Basic Titaniums. Though they are chibified, it does suit these guys since it makes them look more oldschool cartoony. I might get some of these.

Also looking forward to the movie versus pack of BB/Barricade. Barricade's my favourite, I'm glad he's getting so many different toy incarnations!

Yup, I think you hit the nail right on the head there.
Still, strange pairings for the movie guys. Prime v. Blackout and Ratchet v. Megatron? Shouldn't those be switched?

My son asks for the Marvel ones when he see's them in stores, so as long as they don't cost too much, we should pick up a couple of sets. Anyone know how much the SW and Marvel ones were?
Check out my sales thread, plenty of Generations, and Reveal the Shield figures for sale!!

Of all the ones I saw, they were G1.
Rodimus vs. Insecticon is G1 Rodimus vs G1 Kickback
Prime vs Ravage was G1 Prime vs G1 Ravage that looked like a kitten.

"Anyone know how much the SW and Marvel ones were?"
I can't speak for the US, but in the UK they were a dirt-cheap £4.99 for two. Traditionally to get the US price you change the signs, so... five bucks a pair?
So Rodimus vs Insecticon is Hot Rod vs Kickback, eh? I know a certain Insecticon fan who'll be over the moon.

I loved the Star Wars line, but I never got around to buying them. I smiled at the Marvel version, but didn't care quite enough. I will be buying the Transformers line, though. I've always loved PVC collectables, and this is the closest thing I've gotten for Transformers. Desk ornamentation.
I figure it this way, it's like a joke at our expense, you can either take it and laugh or not.
The Action Masters where ment to be serious, and take over the line. These are just something to go along with everything else.
Also, with the other series of this ilk, I feel the same as you do.

Yeah, because there just isn't enough G1 stuff out there for TF collectors...
Homages in Energon
Homages in Cybertron
Homages in Alternators/Binaltech
Homages in Kiss player line
The entire Classics line
Titanium 3"
Titanium 6"
Reissue series
Club exclusives
Convention exclusives
THS Hybrid
Revoltech
Masterpiece
Robot Masters
Transformers plushies
World's Smallest TFs
Diamond Select statues and busts
G1 Chess set
Just about every comic book series of the last 10 years...
so yeah, you can easily see how all the "robot heroes" must absolutely be 100% Generation 1 characters only... if not, G1 would just fade out of the fans' collective memory.

I didn't like the Marvel ones so much but I'm definitely interested in these ones!

It reeks of false advertising* to me. Transformers lacking the capability to transform?
Of course, it is unreasonable to expect children to acquire large quantities of reissues with a $30 price tag and a limited distribution, but these are not substitutes.
*Perhaps not the legal definition, but in a moral sense.
