Improved Alternator RX-8 arm articulation parts!

Postby Valkfan » Tue Mar 18, 2008 2:18 am

Hello all! This is my first post here and I thought it would be cool to announce these custom parts here as my first post. I'm glad to be here!

As some of you know, I have made various custom heads available for the Alternators/Binaltech line over the past few years. Well, I've decided to try something else and I'm extremely pleased with how it turned out.

I love the Alternators RX-8 mold but because it was one of the earlier molds, it suffers(and not a lot!) from a lack of arm articulation. I've created replacement parts for the elbow joint that are easily replaceable and add loads of extra articulation. If anyone wants a set for their Meister, Shockblast or upcoming silver Binaltech Meister, just let me know.

Looks cool. Is it now on a ball joint?

Good work

Yes, there is now a ball joint that pops into place where the pin has been removed. The lower half of this joint attaches to the forearm exactly the same as the original does. The RX-8 transforms exactly as it should and these don't pop of easily.

I'm probably going to try to do something like this with the Subaru mold soon.

Hey Valk, have you made any hand molds?

I'd love to use some Alt hands for other projects, but I don't want to scrap an entire alt for the other mods.

Thanks, and welcome to Seibertron!!!

No, sorry I haven't made any hand molds for any of them. I probably should make some Acura hands and forearms though because I know there are A LOT of Acura Prowl's and Camshaft's that lost their's to Alternators Rumble. (I'm looking for an armless Prowl or Camshaft, if anyone has a spare.)

My next projects are custom heads for Alternators Brawn, Cliffjumper and a better Wheeljack. Then maybe I'll make heads for Runabout and Runamuck although I'm at a lose as to which bodies would best be used for their heads. Any suggestions?

This is awesome. I just picked up an Alt Jazz at BotCon and plan on reprolabeling him soon. This would the quintessential icing on the cake.

Valkfan, IMO, a black and a white S-2000 mold would be pretty cool for Runamuck and Runabout. I know they both aren't the exact same cars, but thier molds in G1 looks so similar that this could work.

What did you do for the ball joints? That really does look good. I used the KO Vipers (one black one white) for my battlechargers. I quite like them

Actually Cybertron Runamuck's head fits on a Tracks/Ravage body just fine! You just have to drill it out a little. I'm looking for a white KO 'Vette for Runabout.

I think it fits to use an American muscle car for those guys, and since I HATED Battle Ravage, I just swapped out his noggin.

Wow, I didn't know Cybertron Runamucks head worked on an Alternator! I guess I need to find a Cybertron Runamuck now. Maybe you can post a picture of this. I only knew you could use G1 Hoist and G1 Inferno heads for the Alternators but that was it. I don't like reinventing the wheel so if I like the way it looks, I'll scrap the idea and move on to other custom head ideas I have.

I too hate Battle Ravage! That's why I made an Alternators Stunticon Wildrider head to replace it.
