I don't like that either. I look the shoulders and legs of older Voyagers like Mindwipe, Seaspray, Lugnut... then I look the new Voyagers...
By the way, how do the ball joints of these new Voyagers handle friction over time? Do they get loose easily? I have heard that Voyager rid Megatron can get very floppy...
I like the figure, but I still don't know if I should get it...

I proudly display my movie trilogy Optimus with most of my Autobot ones. (Including many Optimus ones though I am missing a few). Even if they did not want it to lock into place, how come they could not of done like they did with mechtech and just made a gun that transforms into a 'larger' gun, UGH. The gun looks cool, but the intrepid collector has to rubber band the weapon to lock into place. Why must the weapons have LEDs? I mean why not a locking button to activate the LED. I am an engineer btw. I have no clue why this mechanic was even implemented. I love this figure. I love the gun. I was like, heck yeah! Then I saw a clear plastic band holding the gun into its gun configuration and was super depressed.
It is such a sad waste to see I am going to spend money on something I am not ever going to be able to use. I am sure people on here will hate me for saying all of this. These are my legit feelings on the matter. Megatron's is the only one that is cool since it can lock into place with some fidling + it is a gun no matter what!
You can take them apart and remove the spring. I've done that with Optimus, Starscream, and Bulkhead and they're not so bad once you do that.

Yeah - RID Megatron gets pretty floppy over time. Same with RID Prime's legs. A little glue on his ball joints and he is solid again, but Megatron is going to be a pain to stiffen back up again. Arms and legs are getting floppy syndrome on my figure.

Agreed. I, for one, am quite fond of Optimus' weapon and Bulkhead's isn't awful (in robot mode). Starscream's is a tad too gigantic for my tastes though. It's an incredibly simple operation as well. And if you decide you really don't like the big block on the back, it's easily removed.

That's why I thought it was funny. But I do not like Macross, and honestly never will. I do not care how G1 Jetfire came about.

However, I'm fully unimpressed by the hollowed out pieces. I mean, they're not even given us fully sealed limb pieces, anymore. Look at F.E. Bulkhead and Optimus and then PRID Dreadwing. It's not the end of the world as long as he's constructed well, but it's still an eyesore.

+1
Mine was very floppy/Knock-Off from the beginning. Atleast he isn't to short for a megatron. But it feels like a fake blown up deluxe. He's also very light. So are the new FOC figures, but I can take that, since I lurf FOC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I 3d design and print! Check out my instagram http://www.instagram.com/plasticpolygon3d for some Transformers weapons if you're interested. The War for Cybertron standard machine gun is ready as well as the Armada Optimus gun (smaller) and a Robotech Gunpod.

Good on you for retroactively remembering.
Well that is more transforming giant robots for me.
I mean it isn't like Bandai and gang are much better at giving us jet transformers than Has/Tak.
Seriously, you should do an essay on why Macross is irrelevant to Transformers.
Bonus points on neglecting Kawamori's (the creator of Macross just an fyi I am sure you knew that

It's was the first thing i thought when i saw the head.
Very good looking robot mode i will get this and i would get his twin it would be awsome if he had the same gun as his commander figure.
The jet looks good can't grumble with the hands and whatever after the movie voyagers , i'm glad he's at least a tad bit taller than bulkhead and breakdown not for scale just for voyagers being taller.

Bonus points on neglecting Kawamori's (the creator of Macross just an fyi I am sure you knew that) involvement at Takara designing Optimus Prime, Prowl/Smokescreen/Bluestreak, Ironhide/Ratchet, and MP Starscream or the fact that Roller shows up in Macross.
Oh, let's not forget the great G1 Jetfire toy was originally Macross toy. VF-1S Super Valkyrie to be exact. If you didn't read my small text, I do not care how he came about, I do not like Macross.
But, yeah, they're totally irrelevant to Transformers. I mean, seriously.
PrimeStriker wrote:I do not care how G1 Jetfire came about.
I mean, it isn't like Macross is popular at all in the U.S. Everyone knows that. Robotech? That doesn't exist, you silly goose!
You're right, Macross had no effect whatsoever on Transformers. I'm not knowledgable at all of the franchise.
Now that the sarcasm's over, let's get on with the discussion at hand. Don't make me like Macross because they had an involvement in Transformers, because I honestly do not care.

Love how accurate this toy is in robot mode. I wonder if there's a way to leave one of those wing flaps hanging out the back to make that slightly more accurate?
