In Praise of Animated
In Praise of Animated

Since the hub has started playing animated season 2 (are we into season 3 now??), I've just been blown away at how much fun these episodes are, and how many arcs are ongoing and connected across multiple episodes. It makes watching Prime continue its Easter Egg Hunt narratives all the more difficult to enjoy.
Animated really mixed in a great balance of homage and novel, and its main characters grew rounder and more developed without you realizing it, rather than each getting the occasional "feature episode" to be developed more.
That's all!

I'm not a fan of their first season. It kinda ruined the show for me, so I stopped watching about mid-Season 2 (the last episode I saw was Garbage In, Garbage Out. But I didn't miss the finale). I've watched a few episodes of Season 2 and 3, but Animated is still one of my least favorite shows.

The same here. I felt the homages in season 3 were starting to become of an annoyance to cover up some the weaker episodes.

I actually loved the homages...until they did these:
Dear...god.

But the homages and the overall story(no constant war) is what made Animated such a vast and unlimted series! Anyone and everyone could appear in an episode, and it would make perfects sense.
They included Grandus for goodness sake!
And a blink and you'll miss it came of Zaur!
(Both from "This Is Why I Hate Machines")
The guys behind Animated knew the Universe and weren't afraid to have fun with it. The art style took a little getting used to and there weren't a lot of knock out drag out battles but the writing and character's were fleshed out wonderfully, and you had no idea where it was going to go next. Wish it had just one more season, but c'est la vie.

Sure, humanoids are fine. This?:
No.

No.
Hell no.
I never liked that.

....Okay that was awesome.
There were a couple others that just made me want to barf. Ironhide almost did this until he went...iron.
And then, I hated the cheesy human villains.

And almost everyone had CHIIIIIIN.

Other that, everyone else was awesome, the writing was great (after Season 2), and Sari was surprising, and Blitzwing was boss. I have my gripes.

They're not human stereotypes, they're video game character parodies.PrymeStriker wrote:I just don't like the homages that make my favorite characters look like ugly human stereotypes.
