What I find really funny about this is the fact that when I started creating this universe of characters and stuff I've been working on the past couple years - a good deal of which is geared toward spoofery/parody/satire and the like - this is one of the parody figures I came up with:

Oh, there's been dozens of those things, I'm sure. I remember going to see one at a racetrack when I was about 9 or 10. Actually, that was a transforming 4x4 that turned into what appeared to be a giant Go-Bot, so I'm pretty sure technology has advanced substantially since then. Of course, there's still the question of whether or not anyone really WANTS to see a giant Mecha-Michael roaming the Nevada landscape.
