I think it's funny that people think the $60 price point is a deal considering all other U.S. releases have been $50(retail), albeit the shipping on this was free, so basically I look at it as $50 w/ $10 shipping. I still bought one, but I think scoring the black Energon version for $15 clearance was better still.

I got mine an hour ago and i have to say im happy..
Ive never had any of the unicrons because i started collecting like a year ago, but
im content I say its good and I couldn't ask for more.
lol maybe its because I have low standards for these toys but hey
having low standards means less disappointments

That's what's nice about these two Unicrons. If you prefer it one way, you can get the Takara Tomy version. If you like it the other way, you can get the Hasbro version.

That's what's nice about these two Unicrons. If you prefer it one way, you can get the Takara Tomy version. If you like it the other way, you can get the Hasbro version.

Oh, I'll be trying for the Hasbro one, since its colors are better chosen (save for the silver), and its price is (was) more reasonable. I think it's mostly just the chest, the silver, and the legs that I'm miffed about, but the rest of it looks great. Planet Mode especially.

Some real perfectionists here.

I personally love 25th Unicron. I have few if any complaints about it. Haven't seen it in person yet but I hope my opinion doesn't change then. Any way I look at it, I still prefer it over 2010 Unicron for both price and color scheme.

Still... paint applications and a new head sculpt are minor upgrades. I would much prefer their engineers find a way to get a spherical planet mode out of Unicron rather than the dome of doom he remains for this 25th. And while they're at it, replace the moon-minicon with a Galvatron minicon/targetmaster that Unicron can wield (around the same size as MP Roddy's targetmaster (scale be damned!). As it is, I'm good with my Armada head sculpt. Seems like it's got a more Classicverse style to it.

just got 25th Unicron today and he's very awsome. hes a little more blue in person than i thought hed be but its more of a slate blue than baby blue. also the LED in his head is red again, even though his eyes are green

I received mine today.
I had said in a previous reply that I have the Takara version, which I enjoy emensly. This Hasbro/Amazon edition is the same exact mold, but mostly different colored plastics and paint apps. All I can say is that after handling, and examining the 2 in person side by side, not a picture, I can honestly say the quality and feel is the exact same. Now as far as the looks, the Takara one has a darker, but more simplistic look to it. I do not want to offend anyone, but IMO side by side, the Takara one looks a little unfinished, and monochrome. Something I didn't see before I had the Hasbro/Amazon one to compare in person.
Again I am extremely happy with both of them, and do not favor one or the other.
As far as the LED lights being red, I am not sure why they both use red instead of green. I can only guess it's a production thing, or just trying to lean him towards a bad guy Decepticon eye color thing, even though he has no alliance.

Got mine yesterday. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with this version. I have the Armada and Takara Welcome to Transformers 2010 versions as well. This works out well for me, because I prefer the Amazon version in bot mode and the Takara version in planet mode, win/win! I like more metallic looking plastic and paints used on the Amazon version and the fact that his light-up hand isn't completely clear. I plan on swapping out the red LED for a green one. The Takara version almost seems too orange when they are side by side. I do like the wash that was used on the Takara version though. I guess I could add a wash to the Amazon version easy enough. All in all I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Ive seen customs from years ago that WAY surpass the 25th unicron such as the attached pic.
Its just abit disapointing to see that this is Hasbros best attempt at trying to do a Cartoon accurate movie unicron. It feels wierd when you stand the 3 of them together because now Armada unicron looks like an unfinished prototype - 25th unicron looks like a KO of 2010 unicron and - 2010 Takara unicron looks the genuine thing

Its sad because i was really hoping to get a Unicron for my classics line but now it seems i can either mod my own armada unicron into the attached pic OR spend over £140+ for 2010 Takara unicron in the colors hes ment to be in

anyone else seen this toy in the flesh or whos got it themselves and feel disapointed. btw my friend got his off ebay and paid the retarded price instead of waiting for it to show up on amazon

I agree with everything you said 100% & i've even said similar statements in the Amazon unicron thread here on seibertron.

Personally it seems like all those colors on the 25th Unicron were chosen to make it more under 6 year old kiddie friendly. the ocean light blue & red high light colors just look awful.

Most important what's up with the half painted orange trianges on unicron's chest opening doors. was hasbro trying to save money on paint's apps?

IMHO,The takara 2010 unicron is the most superior color sheme for this unicron toy mold thus far.

In terms of LEDs, red LEDs have historically been cheaper and easier to get a hold of than any other color. That's changed greatly in recent years, but it's possible that for a mass production like this, red were easier/cheaper.

That said, I'd love to see someone customize with a green LED - I want pictures and a step-by-step guide, thanks.

I prefer the Amazon version, since it is far cheaper and more accurate. And you Finaly get visably green eyes (the takara one had them but they were so tinted you could barely see it) idk if i am going to get one though, i may end up sticking with the armada one i have since by the time i can get one hte price would have already gone retarded everywhere else and sold out on Amazon :-(
