Is it worth it to keep the boxes?

If you want ot get rid of the boxes only do it for the ones which are not rare/exclusives. I would definetely recommend keeping all Masterpiece boxes and anything from the 80s-2000s line of Transfomers. I still ahve my boxed scorponok and boxed TM cyclonus.

All of my backer cards, box backs and instructions are organized into six binders. What doesn't fit (Ultra, Leader, etc.) I store in a separate box in my closet. It's a great way to deal with clutter. The only negative is that I've become anal about buying MISB only.

Also, if anyone is willing to part with their backer card to Classics 2007 Bumblebee, I would really appreciate it. It's the only one I'm missing.

I might get the new unicron figure but keep it sealed and then grade it. As I personally resent Hasbro/Takara from releasing the figure and basing it on the Armada Unicron which is a fantastic figure but the 1980s Unicron deserves to be unique with a new larger mould and more rounded.

If I kept all those things I could build a cardboard house.

Wow, that looks really good. I've got all of my card and box backs in a bigger box (Hasbro 25th Anniversary G1 Prime) in a Rubbermaid storage tote, and instructions are sorted by faction and toyline in zip-top bags. Your system looks like it makes browsing and storage a lot easier. Way better than mine.

You know, you're right. It is really good for browsing, too. I just wish I came up with the idea so I can brag about how smart I am

"How on earth do you store them without damaging them or suffering scuffing to the sides?!"
I tend to use either plastic storage cases or recently have adapted some TV/PC cases which are ironically large enough for many boxed Transformers and they fit enough to keep the boxes in quite good condition. The only problem is i still don't have enough room or space without making some very hard decisions to get rid of some stuff.
I have also decided to display some of my loose Transformers on my shelf and when i get one a display cabinet.

I'm also anal about buying Transformers MISB. I know I'm going to take them out and display them (ooohh, and play with them too), but I like the fact of being the first to open them, so it's a very rare thing for me to buy a used Transformer.

Same here. It's part of the experience, part of the excitement to take it out for the first time. It's like Christmas or a birthday all over again.

I store them in a cabinet, along side the toys. Safe, and it makes an awesome backdrop for them.

I have mine stored in my cupboard for the moment until such a time as i have enough room to move them elsewhere.

If you're going to buy it and keep it in the box that prevents you from ever actually seeing the fig, what does it matter what mold they used or what it looks like?

I always cut the bubble off my deluxe packaging. My voyager-and-up boxes are still intact. I think I might cut the back panel off of those boxes and trash the rest.
Of course I might go upstairs and decide I can't do it. AAAARRGGHH!

Exactly. Growing up- on birthdays or Christmas- i knew i was getting at least one Transformer. Definitely loved the feeling of opening it up and performing the first transformation.
