2015 Seibertron.com Year in Review - A Combined Compilation
Re: 2015 Seibertron.com Year in Review - A Combined Compilation
I didn't buy enough stuff to meet the requirements of these categories. So instead I'm just gonna repost my Top 5 of 2015 --
Not in any particular order: LG10 Arcee; LG13 Megatron; MP-22 Ultra Magnus (shipped: 12/26/14, arrived: 01/05/15); MP-25 Tracks and UW04 Devastator.
All five have good to amazing articulation, and look great in both modes; and not surprisingly, all five are from Takara, because of the company's tendency to create cartoon-accurate molds/decos. ;)

Who? Shockwave? I tried to give him an honorable mention, but it didn't make the final cut
I did include Cary's comment, and made sure to find a photo showing Shockers off!And don't forget his purple lil pew pew buddy that likes to ride piggy back!

I agree with Burn, CP. Amazing shot and group of bots. I always appreciate the little lighting details in your photos. I'm Loving that blue reflection bouncing off all that glorious silver paint.

Aww shucks, thanks. (:
@Cob, yeah, a few: Hasbro's Powerglide. Neat little toy, looks like the cartoon-model. An impressive number of steps for such a small figure. After this I kinda wanted Viper, too
LG04 Roadbuster - Got him cheap from Lena

And LG09 Brainstorm of course. He would have probably made my top five if Magnus had arrived on 2014. One of the many cool things about this Brainstorm is that he actually has hinged panels that hide his transformation gaps. You don't see that in many CHUG figures.

My fav TF moments would be
Meeting Nick Roche at the Waterford Winterval and getting a Free Sketch done
Picking up a (Damaged) Motorvator Flame body for €1 at a Car Boot Sale. Still can't get a roof and tire. Hopefully one of this year's best moments will be completing him.

I do have to agree with everyone who named Sups as the best combiner, and HS's pre-CW combiner experience matched mine almost exactly.
Glad I wasn't alone; There really is nothing much worse than missing out on 2/5 of a combiner
Yeah, that is pretty annoying.
Yeah, I got the energon constructicons, but they aren't the greatest in combined mode - dat shoulder pad
I do regret missing out on energon barricade
I had gotten ahold of two of the Energon Aerialbots at a comics shop in Chicago in the first half of 2014, and was frustrated that I couldn't find the rest of them. Thankfully, the CW announcement put that frustration to rest.

Don't want to sound redundant, but that is really awesome! Great looking sketches, wish I could draw that well.
My favorite TF moment of the year would Have to be finally getting Devastator at Christmas. I had been waiting to own the figures since toy fair, and had been wanting one since long before that. Definitely one of my favorite figures.
Things I'm looking forward to next year- Shockwave, Skylynx, and Victorion. And that's just what's been revealed, Can't wait for Toy Fair

Okay, so now that I've had time to sit down and think about what was going on in 2015, here's what I've got going for me:
Transformers Figure of the Year 2015
Combiner Wars Devastator

This one's pretty damn obvious: Combiner Wars Titan-class Devastator. It's big, it's dumb, and it's loads of fun. The Constructicons and Devastator compliment Combiner Wars Leader Megatron and Masterpiece figures very well!!
Favorite 2015 Transformers: Combiner Wars/Unite Warriors

Going by size-class on this one, because I've got faves in all the size classes:

- Legends: Shockwave. Amazing figure at such a small scale. Not exactly what I envisioned a Classics-style Shockwave, but it will certainly do! Honorable mentions to Groove and Powerglide/Viper.

- Deluxe: Rook. Love this guy's robot and vehicle mode, especially his unique hands and his "Hulk hands" ability. I guess Swindle could also count, too. Honorable mentions to Dead End, Wildrider/Brake-Neck, and Streetwise, who are probably the best limsb that turns into cars, and First Aid.

- Voyager: Silverbolt. The only reason, the only reason Onslaught isn't here is because of Silverbolt's genius transformation into a torso and how well it works, functionally speaking. Honorable mention to (you guessed it) Onslaught and Hot Spot.

- Leader: Ultra Magnus. Magnus, Magnus, Magnus, Magnus! Who doesn't love Magnus? Freaks, that's who! Having finally begun reading More Than Meets the Eye early last year, having an official Minimus Ambus also makes this guy get this spot. Also, in contrast to Burn, I like rocket-powered hammers! Honorable mention to Megatron for being the surrogate Masterpiece Megatron that we need that's not a 3P robo.

- Combiner: Bruticus. The one Combiner I wanted to happen when Combiner Wars was first teased back at BotCon 2013 has finally come true. Hooray for waiting it out for nearly seven years and not going down the dark path of third parties!
Favorite 2015 Transformers Masterpiece Figure (Hasbro or Takara)
Masterpiece Star Saber

Was very excited when Star Saber's prototype was first revealed in... 2014, right? Anyway, I'm a sucker for a bot with a sword, and this guy is the king of the sword bots. Always love me a dash of Japan-influence on my shelves. For right now, he's stored away in storage in preparation for a big move to Virginia, but once he's back out, he will stand proudly next to Optimus Prime with sword drawn.
Favorite 2015 Transformers Exclusive Figure
Combiner Wars Quickslinger

Probably Combiner Wars Quickslinger, if he counts? I didn't indulge in any TFCC exclusives outside of this year's freebie Lio Convoy, but I didn't find him all that exciting like I did with last year's Rampage. I'm just glad I've truly completed Superion, and now that he's got all jets for limbs, Superion looks gorgeous! Honorable mention to his wave mate (?) Brake-Neck/Wildrider.
Favorite 2015 Transformers Comics-moment

Probably the Combiner Wars event. I liked the five-way brawl between Optimus Maxmimus, Superion, Defensor, Devastator, and Menasor.
Favorite 2015 Transformers Game

Devastation, by default. Not the best Transformers game I've played (I'm yearning for another Cybertron-themed game for Xbox One that has competitive multiplayer, or at least backwards-compatibility for the previous Cybretron-themed games), but it's certainly not bad. If you didn't blast "The Touch" and play as Optimus during the boss battle with Megatron, then we can't be friends.
