Well, at least he isn't trying to hide it like some people do. As I recall, I think Ryan said once that he didn't mind so much as long as people credit the site. I think the links and the water marks might fall into that catagory.

As long as the watermarks are present it is not that big of a problem. I have had to contact a few people that edited the watermark out of the photos and ask them to remove it.
Not a sheeple.
Think for yourself, don't let the magic TV box and social media do the thinking for you.
Question EVERYTHING!!
Just because you have a youtube review channel doesn't make you special.
I look forward to attending a Botcon soon only to settle matters with several idiots in person (yes this is a threat).

Why would you not link to real pictures of the item that you own, rather than a pic somebody else took, which should be accurate, but is not the toy you are selling, so to speak?

Just curious. :???:

Because they either don't have the item or the actual item they have isn't in the condition that they list on their auction ad.

Trust me, those people are out there.

I was thinking that, but I just wanted to hear someone else say it.

I'd prefer to believe it is for the reason Original Sin gave:

Maybe they don't have a camera

Probably most cases are what you said though PP.

Still though, wouldn't this be a case of "misrepresenting an item"? Even if the toy the seller has is just about the same as the one in the seibertron picture, still it isn't a picture of what he's selling.

But I don't know, ebay has some stock pictures of DVD and videogame covers that are sometimes different from the actual covers, and people still use them, although some will state that they are "stock pictures and actual item have may a different cover".

I just know that if I find an auction using someone else's pictures, I wouldn't bid/buy.

Exactly.

I don't feel to enraged that there are people selling items that aren't as pictured because, imo, if somebody isn't able to tell that it isn't the real pic then it is their own fault if they are tricked.

Misrepresentation, that was the word I was searching for and couldn't find.

Some may not know whether a pic 'belongs' to the seller or not.
