I am looking for a guide that will provide pictures and information for G1 and G2 toys. I have noticed a few options while searching through Amazon, but I am unsure which is the best resource. Any suggestions?

Can't find a pic for G2 but if you can find this for G1 it's the best. (Still can't figure out how to add images on here :-x

Try looking for the Japanese TF Generations "mook"(especially the special ed with the gold colored Japanese characters). It used to be published by Million Publishing iirc.

A lot of great resources suggested so far.

For 87-90, you can't beat this for the price: http://tfsource.com/products/view/product_id/85/

There's a volume 1 as well, but good luck there.

For G2, there isn't much. Tfu.info, the galleries here, and to some extent the TF Wiki (for waves/release dates/etc) are probably the best resources out there for it.
