Megastorm is a hilariously excellent reuse of G2 Megatron. Simply add eyeshadow, remove the ability to pump a missile forward, repaint, and bam! We have Galvatron's younger brother from BW2.

I was casually hunting SG Roddy at Target but ended up spending a little more -- on a SNES Classic!

Sure, I still have my SNES, but I couldn't resist picking this cute li'l thing up. The only games missing are Final Fantasy 2 (IV) and Super SmashTV, imho.

EDITS: Back to Beast Wars 2, I s'pose the birds & bees of botdom are never explained -- I mean, Galvatron & Megastorm are brothers?

And Lio Prime has a son?!

Is there an Elita-2 that's no longer in the picture? :-?

Then again, Sunstreaker and Sideswipe were twins, right? So it's not like this concept is limited to BW2. :-P

Oh snap, no-go on Chrono Trigger (great call!) either, Wingz. I still have the cartridge, as well as a 3DS copy of CT. It's an all-time classic, just like the SNES itself.

I'm on episode 6 now, but get random spoilers thanks to tfwiki. I like looking at the domestic releases and finding out they were from Beast Wars II or Neo! Especially since a lot of them were released under BW or BM but never made actual appearances in the shows.

I am a bit more interested in a Lio Prime now...I can't wait to see God Neptune and Tripledacus in the show. I'm casually hunting the latter. But Neo figures keep getting in the way....

I rewatched the first episode with the Jointrons after seeing your comment regarding Airraptor :lol:

I doubt you'll be disappointed. Definitely a unique mark on the franchise! I'll let you know if I find them complete for a good deal

I know, right? CT is one of the best RPGs of all-time....but most of the included games are Nintendo's own franchises. But the ones that made the cut are still cool -- they're just not (primarily) RPGs, my personal favorite genre.

But they did include Earthbound. Never played that one, but always wanted to.

At the moment, though, Beast Wars 2 is dominating my free time! It's preventing me from getting deep into Pillars of Eternity, which I picked up the other day for PS4.

The Predacons in BW2 grew on me really quickly.

Starscream & BB -- He is nothing like the whining, sniveling, scheming Screamer I grew up with. This incarnation is calm, cool and likes to troll other bots. And is always with his giant-robo partner, BB. BB is a bot of very, very few words, but is perfectly paired here with the soft-spoken Starscream.

Megastorm -- an ambitious backstabber of a brother, he's like a young Megatron. I like listening to him talk to himself.

Thrust & Dirge -- these two are a comedic duo, no doubt.

I saw the domestic, US release for BB earlier today -- I don't recall the name, but recognized him pretty quickly. When I looked at the box, apparently Starscream had been repurposed to be Silverbolt!

There were a few things I passed on...including a complete Beast Wars Transmetal Megatron for $45. Just the thought of him crumbling due to the poor plastics was enough for me to pass. There was also MISB figures for Generations Rattrap, Transmetal Rhinox, Protoform Starscream, Dark Nitro Convoy ($60!) and other goodies...so I couldn't end the day empty-handed.

I've been wanting a Generations Rhinox for awhile, and seeing him MISB for $30 was too good to pass up. I am also looking forward to that latest issue of Lost Light.

Well seems like I stopped getting notifications a month or so ago.

So how's that SNES Classic treating you? I agree that the lack of CT is a major oversight. Unlike the NESC I played the SNESC no stop once I got one. SMBW, Zelda, Metroid, FF6 but most of all Secret of Mana. I love that game. Tried to get my wife to play with me but "too many buttons" :lol:

There is a remake of SoM coming to playstation systems I'm keeping a close eye on.

YES! TMNT4 and ZAMN would have been so good to have. My friend hacked his, and I'm considering it, Cary...but I won't be getting into the SNESC hardcore till this weekend -- I'm hoping the 4 & 6 y/o will think it's cool. This will appeal more to my wife, too, since she never liked the jump to 3D platforming.

She much prefers Mario in 2D.

One of my absolute favorite Maximals from Beast Wars was Rhinox.

With the brawn & brains to go with his worldly wisdom, he could be wrecking 'Cons one minute, advising Primal the next, or be waxing poetic on the meaning of sentient life, all in the span of 30 minutes.

You know, sometimes I laugh harder at the titles you give your MeMes, than the MeME's themselves.

Great score on Rhinox. Despite some loose joints, he's pretty rad.

Also, It dawned on me, we had been talking about the Sono King Korean releases of BW Noe toys, and I remembered I have Megastorm and Starscream and BB, and they are both Sono King releases. Sooooooooo, if they were something you were considering, there may be a cheaper option out there. Just sayin'. Starscream and BB are rad toys BTW.

Thanks Cobo! I think of the memes as "the idea" (whatever pop iconography slaps me upside the head), but the titles for them are where I sometimes have more fun.

Rhinox is a little loosey-goosey with the leg-joints, but you can get him to stand (mostly lol). It was admittedly nice to open him up outta that MISB...I know you aren't a stickler for cartoon accuracy, and even though I appreciate creative liberties, he pretty much looks like a perfect rendition of his CG-self.

Ooh, so you have the Sono King releases for dem BW2 figures? I always prefer cheaper options (re-releases, loose but complete, etc.), so I may hunt them down. Thanks for the heads-up, buddy!

I hope you enjoy it, too, Shaj! I'm on episode 11 now, and it's been a fun show to watch. I've even gotten to see a drunk Galvatron = good times.

Magmatron arrived today! I've only had a chance to transform his 3 components into their beast modes, but they look great.
