Brag or cry about your retail Transformers section

I've slowed down in my spending on Transformers, mostly because it's been hard to get what I want at the stores. Most of my recent purchases have been from ebay. At my Walmart, they have very small shelf space for Transformers. There used to be more space, but they took it away to put in WWE character figs. The deluxe peg row is usually empty and we recently got a batch of Prime Masters. If the deluxe row isn't empty, it's crammed with Wave 1. As for Voyagers, they had a few Grimlocks and no Leaders. At my Target, it's even worse. They have more shelf space for Transformers, but most of it stays empty, besides lingering TLK and RID figures.

Went to Walmart late tonight after a WWE House show. There wasn't anything new on the shelves, though they did pack as much of SS Voyager wave 1 on the shelf as they could on the bottom shelves while there was another unopened box on the overflow top shelf. And next to that was another box that had been opened, but the to flaps were folded into themselves to close it and it was covered in red stickers that read "pull", and inside from what I could see pulling a little on the flaps was Hun-Grrr and Elita-1. Please don't tell me the pull stickers mean they're sending them back to the warehouse while the lower shelf has seven Starscreams and a single Grimlock.
I was really tempted to take the figures and ditch the case, but didn't know what I would have said if they didn't ring up or something.

I work at Walmart. Unfortunately pull does mean what you think. However, if you had gotten help from a manager about it, you likely could have bought the figures. My suggestion....go back today. If the boxes are still there (they most likely aren't but COULD be back in the back room), ask an associate for a manager. Stay in the toy department or go back to it if you had to leave it to get help, and then express your need to buy the figures. Ask for them to check the back room too. I hope this helps!

Unfortunately I had to be 20 miles in the opposite direction today (seeing Ant-Man) so no luck there. I would have asked an associate at the time, but it was after 11pm and the only people around were the cleaning crew. But thanks for the reply. Sucks that they would pull the new figures and leave the old ones crowding the shelves.

So I was back at this Walmart today and the "pull" box was still there on the top shelf... along with what looked like six or so cases of Voyager wave 2 unloaded on the bottom and top shelves along with another unopened box. Oh, and they still had five Starscreams and a Grimlock. Walmart can be a weird place sometimes. On the plus side, if your Walmart is packed full of wave 1 Voyagers you may not be SOL on finding wave 2 if you're still looking for them (wave 3 on the other hand...).

I got Hun-Gurrr, but now that these are plentiful at the Walmarts around me (the other local store is just as well stocked, but only has one Starscream) I can wait and get Elita-1 another day.

I walk into work this morning (I work at Walmart
). I go to the toy department. I haven't been to work in a few days so I'm excited about find new stuff. I go to the Transformers section. On the pegs I see the same old stuff: Slags an Rippersnappers. On the shelf I see the same old boxes: Grimlocks and Starscreams. My hopes dwindle. Then I look up top where the extra stock is kept. I see 2 boxes, both marked "Tra PW Voyagers" and my heart skips a beat. Could these be my long sought-after Inferno, Hun-Grr and Elita? I take down the boxes. I feverishly open the first one. My heart rate returns to normal as I see a Grimlock and a Starscream inside. But I have a 2nd box! Not all hopes are dashed! I open the 2nd box, and...
...another Grimlock and another Starscream.
Hasbro distribution can suck my energon cubes.

I see they left behind a headless Vulture. One of mine did the same after their reset.

Sadly, I must agree. But it's not like that at all of them which is the curious thing. Two Walmart stores not 15 minutes apart will be a night and day difference.

So I've been wanting to take a picture of this for a while because it's utterly ridiculous. So you know how Walmart treats toy space like sacred ground and the Transformers section gets smaller and smaller with every seasonal reset? Let me show you what I have to deal with at one of my two local Walmarts (Waterville).
Here's where they keep the superhero figures. Those DC figures date back to Batman V Superman back in 2016, I believe over two years ago at this point. And the best I can tell they haven't sold a single one.
But that's nothing, you go around the end cap of the pink aisle and you're greeted by this sight:
Why so many? And nobody buys them, they've just been sitting there there taking up space at full price. You couldn't even move them on clearance at this point, they'll never sell them outside of maybe Batman.
And wait, it get's better because...
THERE'S A SECOND END CAP ON THE EDGE OF THE TOY DEPARTMENT LEADING INTO HARDWARE!!
Seriously, what do they think they're going to do with all of this excess stock? There's so much on this end cap that they're wedging them in wherever they can cram them. Think of all the space they'd free up for new stuff by boxing these up and shipping them out to T.J.Maxx (or Goodwill at this point).
Pure insanity.

Re: Brag or cry about your retail Transformers section
I've slowed down a bit.
I've got most of what I wanted from Titans Return (near perfect line, IMO) and the few that I wanted from Power of the Primes. The Amazon exclusives were easy to get so I've got those that need to be unboxed as well.
Target is my main and my location has been keeping up.

Re: Brag or cry about your retail Transformers section
Apart from finding a lone Moonracer, the Wal-Marts in my area suck. Nothing that I'm interested in at all. Tons and tons of Grimlocks and Starscreams, waves of Cyberverse, and a bunch of Studio Series Crowbars. I did see a Studio Series Grimlock, with which I have some interest, perched a top a shelf. I want one, but not for $50.
Honestly, the only thing I'm looking for at this point are the reissues, which is funny because I already have all the figures. I just want to see G1 on the shelves again.

Huh. Both of my local Walmarts have about doubled the size of the Transformers sections (the Power Rangers sections have been drastically reduced to around four pegs and space on the shelf for a single row of Zords). PotP, Cyberverse, Bee Movie, Studio Series and boxed reissues, among other random things, all in one spot. One store even had SS Leader Class back on the shelves! Of course neither store was particularly well stocked, but it's nice to know the potential is there.

Been a while no one posted here. Man, I almost died today, my Toysrus was so beautiful. They had everything. And not only were there a ton of toys in the front to showcase the Bumblebee movie but the TF aisle was still around, packed with more toys.

The holidays decimated the stores around here, and no one has restocked anything. I was lucky to find the smaller figures from the Siege line, but no voyagers or leaders.

Clearance time hits the Augusta, Maine Walmart. Bee movie stuff already being cleared out, that's not good. PotP Legends are $7 (just Outback and Skrapnel left), Deluxe for $13, but Voyagers are still full price yet completely vanished from the store. Only reissue left is two Hot Rods for $21. No Leaders, but that's nothing new. Cyberverse Scouts were knocked down to $5, still not worth it.

Wal-Marts in central Texas are kind of sucking right now. We finally have the G1 Mini-bots, and more Hot Rods and Starscreams than you can shake a stick at. There's quite a few SS series Ratchets and some Megatrons, the occasional Grimlock. Absolutely no Siege stuff in sight, but there do seem to be an awful lot of PotP Infernos.
