It's a sidescroller that consists of about 5 or 6 levels (I think), but the novelty of the game is that as you play it or beat it, you could win prizes in real life.
In fact, I think the game was created just for that purpose.
The game may have or may not have the word "Treasure" in the title, although I'm having trouble finding it while searching for a game with "Treasure" in the title.
Can anybody tell the name of this NES game?

I'm not sure about Vectorman, but I believe Treasure Master was created solely for the purpose of letting players try to win prizes, since from what I remember from reading the reviews back then, it was just an average game.
Still $10,000.00 is a sweet prize for playing videogames!

Damn, I had that game, too. I think I remember seeing that contest advertised on the box and maybe the cartridge itself, but I received the game as a gift well after the contest was over.
It was a pretty crappy game. I sold it at a garage sale for a buck.

Yes, Treasure Master.
Back in 1992, MTV aired a brief commerical that gave the passcode for the secret level, then gamers had 24 hours to beat the level. And then the winner would be decided, and given $10,000 in cash and prizes. It was hard, considering the game had no continues whatsoever.
