In the G1 cartoons, the coneheads looked quite macho and strong compared to other seekers. Thrush in the Armada look like a toothless old robot worser than Kup does. While Stasrscream actually looks handsome compared to others in Armada.

I don't know anything about Armada, but I didn't like the coneheads in G1. The pointy heads, the bell-bottom leg wings.

I also have to disagree that they were written as being tougher than the original Seekers. If anything I always felt they came off as bumbling henchmen.

I agree. They didnt really play any major role in any episode. They were always gunfodder
