Dangard Ace, it started for me in the late 1970's when I got the 5 inch Mattel Shogun Warrior Dangard Ace for Christmas. I had most of the Shoguns but Dangard was ALWAYS my favorite.
The great cartoon anime soon followed in 1980 when Jim Terry productions imported the series from Japan and dubbed it in English as part of the Force Five series. The animation was done by Japans infamous Toei studios. I was in awe, the series was excellent. I loved how Dangard transformed into the huge battle jet and fought all these huge robots. The comic book from Marvel was first-rate as well.

Anyway here he is, released 30 years ago in 1977. He stands about 9 inches tall and is almost completely die-cast metal.

I paid a nice chunk for this beauty but I got it for a really good price for a 100% complete one.
Easily one of my biggest grails.
