The tire is bent in, plus it's blown out. I had Waunakee Auto Body come by Friday to get an estimate. I won't find out the results until Monday at the soonest.

The way it appears to me, the collision hit my car so hard that the axel is probably bent.

I haven't crawled underneath to take a look, but from the way the tire on the driver's side is positioned, that's the most likely conclusion I can come to right now.

And no, I will not be changing my Username, if anything, it has more meaning to it now.

That should a reckless driving ticket. Hopefully the lack of a ticket won't complicate the insurance claim.

Which is what I don't get. I live very close to an intersection. At the bottom of the diagram, you can see it. The road that the accident happened on has a stop sign. So if he came straight across, he would have had to stop first. If he came from either side of the other road, he would have had to slow down to make the turn.

So he must have been flooring his truck to gain that much speed in that short a distance.

I talked with the other guy's insurance agent yesterday....






I'm getting $2060.00 for my car! I wasn't even expecting a $1000.00, but damn. I only paid $2400.00 for it 3 years ago! With the damages at $3000.00, my Grand Prix is getting totalled. The kicker is, the insurance company doesn't want my car! They say that they probably wouldn't get enough to pay for the cost of scrapping it, but whatever.

So now I'm giving it to a friend who works on cars and taking the cash. He'll either fix it up and sell it, or he'll strip it down for parts (fixing older cars up and selling them is how he makes a living).

So with everything settled, I'll be $2060.00 richer, but without a car of my own. Currently, I'm using my parents Station Wagon to get around, but I plan on buying a Mo-Ped to drive for the rest of the year.

I understand that it won't work very well in the winter, so that's why I want to buy one now while I have the money, and then take out a short term loan to get a used car or small pickup truck.

Then I can drive that during the winter, and then go back to my Mo-Ped during the rest of the year.

Well that would be 4 scooters. Apparently I'm the only one in the family who is enthusiastic about trying to get a scooter though.

Everyone's scared that if my car can get totalled just sitting outside my apartment, parked, that driving around on a scooter will be even worse.
