I have my G1 Galvatron mostly apart- legs and lower half apart. I need help taking off the black belt/orange buckle. I see no way to get it off- I found a video on it but the guy said he had to break it to get it off and then claimed it was impossible to do otherwise.
Then there is the darn crown. Any advise on these two parts?

Without looking at mine ... there may be screws hidden beneath stickers if you haven't removed them already.

G1 Galvatron is one of the more notorious toys to disassemble (close to Omega Supreme), especially the torso area. It can be done, but it takes a bit of a specialist approach in a certain order:
- Unscrew the sliding chest section. Problem is, his chrome collar acts as an additional lock, carefully wedge one side out with a flat metal tool.
- With the main chest exposed, unscrew the hip flaps, then the groin pieces should be accessible.
- The belt is another lock, you'll have to wedge that piece off too. Same for the crown. If possible, mark the front where the sticker would go to prevent putting it back on in the wrong direction.
The key is to go slow and easy, and keep track of what piece goes where. Here's a link that may help you:

Thanks for your reply. I have studied that pic you linked many a time
. I just cant find a way to get this belt off- are you saying to just pry it off? I've heard lots of theories about the crown- not too sure which way to go.
I've attached some pics to show where I am in the process.

Yes, you have to carefully pry and wiggle the belt off. Same for the crown. And it is a royal pain in the butt, let me tell you.
JelZe is absolutely right about going slow and easy - both the belt and the crown are likely to break if you don't. I actually did have the crown break on mine.
Would I be right in thinking you have a show-colors repaint in the works?
